Default Sams Club gets BDs

The Sams Club (wholesale side of walmart) I work at has had a sony blu-ray player for quite some time now, but they recently started carrying some BDs. Not that I think they have picked only blu-ray, but it could be because they rarely have toshiba products. Either way ... its great news because this means all the stores in the region have them, if not all of them.

How are the prices for the BD's at Sam's? I have a membership, but it is rare to find a new release that is priced below some place like amazon or Circuit City.

The Sams club near me sells about four different titles, each of them are around $26. They also have a blu-ray player hooked up to three tvs playing the wild. They have casino royal, pirates 2, pursuit of happiness and deja vu. They don't have any HD-DVD.

I only took a quick glance, but I believe I saw prices between 24-26$ on the BDs. You are correct on the new release pricing. I'd never shop there for one of those.

Circuit City? Really? Are their "in store" prices better than CC online? Because Amazon has Casino Royale for 24.95 and CC has it for 38.96 ... same with Rocky Balboa. Just glancing online, most of Circuit City's pricing is high on Blu-ray discs. I ask about "in store" because I don't have a CC in town.

Just an update, we continue to get more and more BDs. More older titles. Also getting new releases, FF2 and Surfs Up. When I was expressing my excitement about the fact that we carry new releases, the general manager of the store said "blu-ray is going to crush HD-DVD". heh
