Still no US release date. I asked on their official Facebook Page about a US 3D release and no one has ever responded.

I'm all over this. I actually like The Final Destination 3-D and supposedly this one is better.

I will be picking this up day 1 as I did not make it out to theaters to see it. I will be picking up what I assume is the Best Buy exclusive 3D version I plan on getting a 3D TV soon and this will be a good test movie

If you have a link please post it for me as I didn't find the 3D BD version there and thanks. Nevermind, I found it.

I believe the UK version is region-coded for the DVD & digital copy though, so be aware that while the 3D & 2D blu-rays will play in US players, the DVD & digital copies likely will not.

Ive been watching for the release of Final D 5 closely. As far as I know it's just BB in the US. Even yesterday I did a thorough check of Amazon & other retailers. The BestBuy site does have them. I'll call my BB Anderson Employee tomorrow & ask if he has a box in the back. If they are exclusive online & in store (like the site says), I'll post an update in the morning. If anyone here knows there local BB employees & can find out before me feel free to confirm the release! I was kinda hoping it wasn't exclusive (I hate exclusives), but still, I'd rather be able to get it!!

Keep us informed, thx

Did anyone see this in 3D in the theater? How was the 3D? Post converted or native?

It's a best-buy exclusive in the US.

Hopefully the price comes down with this weekends' ad
EDIT: 3D version down to $24.99 now

I'd imagine 3 discs;

Blu-Ray 2D
Blu-Ray 3D
DVD

The digital copy is an ultraviolet streaming copy, so no disc.

I bought it today... Had to go in 3 different futureshop to get it! I also bought the 1st FD in 3d, but i have to watch it with the not so good red and blue glasses :-( I really don't like that type of 3D technologie! But for 9,99 ill let it slide and watch it in 2d

For FD 5 ill maybe watch it tonight also! The girl at the store told me i would like it, specially at the end! Can't wait to see it!

Just watched FD5 3D. What fun!

The story is the same but it still has the suspense and thrill factor of the others. The opening premonition bridge collapse was absolutely spectacular. After that, the usual formula of picking off the survivors one by one follows. Stale? Not to me. Some of the death sequences were very uncomfortable to watch (in a good way). Gore? I thought it was quite a blood bath.

As someone previously posted, some of the 3D popouts were super effective (I blinked and ducked a few times), but several were total misfires. One can clearly see that this is a 3D movie in every scene of the presentation. However, it did not offer an immersive sense of depth throughout. Still, it was very clear and enjoyable to view in 3D.

I did like the introduction of the plot twist that could potentially allow some of the survivors to out fox death (I won't ruin it by revealing spoilers). But the frosting on the cake was the surprise ending. That alone made me do a back flip off the sofa!

But it makes me wonder if FD5 is truly the FINAL destination for the franchise? Somehow I doubt it will end here.

As long as the cow still has udders, they will continue to milk it. Personally, I hope that they do.

My equipment:

My ratings:
------------
Movie: 3.5 to 4
PQ: 4
3D quality: 4
Ghosting: none on my system
AQ: 4
