Default Shortage for Wii this holiday season!

Apparently, due to Nintendo doing so little to help with the shortage, now this holiday season it will cost them dearly due to supply and demand. I find this rather funny, due to PS3 lowering their prices and 360s keep crapping out.

Could be spin from the Mario factory to spread a frenzy at retail to have customers start buying these up now. I can tell you in all of the stores I go into my market, there is no shortage at all. These things are everywhere.

My 100th post!

What david said. It's just spin. That thing is not that hard to manufacture. It doesn't even use blue-purple diode! Nintendo is creating hype.

exactly its a joke to think that they would not of caught up and have enough for this season. Its just hype so people think if they see one they better get it because they are so lucky to of found it.

Usually when I go shopping they have a couple in and they are locked up unlike the ps3's. But I don't know if it is that people don't know they are there, I live in a small city, is it in big city's with lots of people, or do they just go fast and bring some in and i don't notice the difference.

A live in Kalamzoo, MI, and the only place that I have ever seen the Wii is the Meijer on Shaver Road. They have them a couple times a month but they sell out quickly. TRU, Target, Wally World, Gamestop - always sold out when I go in. I guess it depends on where you live.

Well you got to give them credit...even shipping a million a month in the off months, they manage to be sold out all over. I mean, there may be a shortage, but it is selling pretty much as well as any console has ever done even if supply is short.

I just can't see why someone would pay $249 for this thing. It's worth about $99 to me, and even then...I don't think I'd jump unless that Mario Galaxy was available.

I live in Columbus OH and I have only seen 2 Wii's in stores ever! They were both in CC. I always check the PS3 and Wii section whenever I go into a store that carries them, which is several times a month.

The Wii hasn't been having production shortages for over a year.

Simply looks as if Nintendo is milking the percieving immediacy need to purchase one if you see it.

I hardly see a shortage of a product that is in such high demand as bad.

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and they had bout 10 Wii's in the cabinets. Maybe I just walked in right after they got their shipment.

That's exactly the thought that Nintendo's been milking. "Oh, I'm lucky, they have a Wii, I better buy it now before I can think it over and realize I'd rather have a non-gimmicky console."
