![]() ![]() The Return of the Living Dead Blu-ray Looks like Second Sight will be releasing Return of the Living Dead in the UK. No street date yet. Severin was licensed to make three all-new, exclusive featurettes for the release. http://secondsightfilms.co.uk/coming_soon.php?a=192 http://www.severin-films.com/2012/01...e-living-dead/ I wonder how this will compare in terms of PQ to the US release? I'm very interested in comparing the two and might have to import this one regardless just to see the new features. The cover art is certainly A LOT better than what we got in the US. However my favorite is still the Thai poster art (which I have a framed original of ![]() Last edited by Deciazulado; 02-29-2012 at 01:10 PM. Reason: Hotlink removed |

If Return of the Living Dead is region free I'll buy it. If Severin wants to put out a Blu-ray of The Guardian I'll buy a region free player just to have that. I still have the old AB DVD release. That is one of the most unknown and underrated horror films of all time.

![]() I actually own Baraka, which is a superb disc. Wasn't aware this was the same company. |

AFAIK Second Sight hasn't screwed anything up yet. It looks like they are a fairly small distributor. I'm not sure if they do any restoration work or just license current masters. Anyway their releases of Baraka, Picnic at Hanging Rock, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are all known to be very good. |

The US MGM Blu-ray looks fabulous! https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-R.../14065/#Review Locked A incidentally.
Second Sight have done some good stuff but there's one way for them to draw attention to this (apart from digging up the grave of Dan O'Bannon) and that's to pay real money and license some good material The US also got a lenticular for the DVD so I'm not sure this can be bettered. I hope they have something worthy of this great zombie film. http://www.secondsightfilms.co.uk http://www.getmorebrains.com |

Yes, but I watch films not JPEGs. You can only stare at JPEGs -they do nothing. It looks great compared to anything we're used to in the past -obviously. In fact I think it looks pretty darn amazing when you consider the budget.
The great HD image reminded me of To Live and Die in LA -but with zombies. Great colour and contrast. HD discs were made for films like this. |

Because SS, like so many of the smaller labels, typically use only existing masters as the cost of doing their own scans is cost prohibitive. Thus speculation this could likely just be derived from MGM's master.
