Arrow The Avengers Box Office Thread

Since we had a separate thread before running through the weeks from launch till the crash, i think it's only fair it's re-created to move out the box office discussion from the main thread and solely keep that for movie discussion of plots etc.

Theres also rumour of a re-release with an extended cut so this may have a bit more gas in the tank if so.

Also, if this does get a re-release...it could definitely sink Titanic for the #2 spot domestically

Fine! We'll call it a "Corporate Cash Grab Cut"!

Better?

It could possibly catch Titanic's domestic gross as it's only $83 million behind, but it's not going to come close to catching it's worldwide gross, where Titanic still is $785 million ahead. It's not coming anywhere near Avatar's domestic or worldwide gross, as it's $185 million behind for domestic and almost $1.2 billion behind on worldwide.

avatar re-release was in august. it did some business. but not that much. I dont know if avengers will do better in a re-release or not. I hope they extend the imax. I didnt get a chance to see the first time around.

Sort of. But, this "Corporate Cash Grab Cut" is one of the few that would be welcomed.

People are still underestimating this film. It blew expectations out of the water in North America. It could very well do the same in August with Japan finally getting it. Thus, making that $785 million gap respectively smaller for the "extended cut" re-release to help challenge Titanic.

Well, it already came on May 4th. And, it will reappear on Sept 25th.

If you don't mind I can bring all of the information that I posted in the regular Avengers thread and add it to the op of this thread. It will still your thread to update and edit after that.

Of course Blu, your the box office guy for petes sake

I don't have the patience to update the OP most times cept with DCUO when i was really hyped for it. My pride and joy of recent times was TDKR thread to have a bit of bragging rights with my real life bud but the >415k views got wiped because of the crash and it would be a lot more by now

Oh well, let's not get hung up on views now, it's still #1 viewed

[Show spoiler]I do jest, it just shows Batman is really well loved and anticipated

You guys seem to be underestimating the film. Yes, Dark Knight Rises will cut into it 2.5 weeks in, but I think it will make 800 Mil over time, easily.
