So I am gonna be moving out in the next month or so and figured it would be a good time to update my equipment. Currently I have a 42" Panasonic Plasma, with a cheaper Panny HTiB 5.1 BD System. I am moving into a friends condo and He was generous enough to leave his media room (soon to be my bedroom) as is with his equipment. The tv is older/worse than mine so I won't bother mentioning that, but he does have a really nice set of
polk speakers (5.1), Harmon Kardon AVR 247, and a RTI-TC2 Universal remote. (there is also a dvd player and some other misc, that I don't plan on using so again not mentioning those. So essentially I need to help deciding between three possibilities and naturally I turn to you guys. So here are the three possible layouts. Feel free to suggest a mix and match or +/- components Setup 1 Panny TC-P55vt50 HK AVR 247 Oppo BDP93 Setup 2 Panny TC-P 55gt50 Denon 2313 CI Oppo BDP93 Setup 3 Panny TC-P55vt50 Denon 1913 Panny BDT500 Thanks for any and all comments/criticism/advice! ***EDIT*** So here is what my main goal is for my bedroom setup: Rough Budget: $3000 but if I can spend less and achieve what I want, even better Uses: 45% gaming, 45% movies, 10% tv/streaming. TV: something that is gonna keep me satisfied for the next 5 or so years (my last panny, one that was a lower end did that so I suspect anything better and I will still be pretty happy) I do kinda feel my current 42" panny is a bit poor on the pq Receiver: Needs to have 2 zones as there are two speakers in the living room to utilize for guests and such. Doesn't have to be extremely powerful because as roar pointed out, I will be in a condo and won't be able to blast my speakers. I do consider myself to be a bit more focused on quality than feature set, aside from the 2 zone feature and possibly airplay, since the tv and the BD player will cover most if not all other features. As far as HDMI's, I would say minimum of three (which is where the HK is lacking with only two). I need to connect my xbox 360, BD player, and possibly charter tv box. BD Player: Originally was looking at the Panny BDt 220 but was told to look at either the oppo 93 or the panny 500. But am hearing many people say that there isnt much difference as far as pq and audio quality nowadays. Any help here as to which way to go would be greatly appreciated.
