Default need advice whether to return a plasma

I bought a samsung 42" plasma 720p, and am more than satisfied with it. other day, my g/f and i forgot to turn off a dvd program, and the menu was up for about an hour. there was some slight IR, and i ran the anti-IR programs, namely the white wash-out. i was looking at the screen while it was just white, and noticed in the upper right hand corner a black dot. hmm...shouldn't be there i thought since it's a white wash-out program. well, just from my own guessing, i'm thinking it's a burnt out pixel. it's not blue, just black. no color feed at all. it drives me nuts now though, because i look for it all the time, and it's distracting me from my viewing experience. i called circuit city and they said they'd take it back, but now i'm worried that when i exchange it, that i'll just get another set that has this same problem.

should i take it back, i mean, it's just 1 pixel, or should i just let it be, because i'm wondering if nearly all plasmas have some sort of flaw.

thanks in advance for your input.

I would get it replaced, it is just one pixel but the problem prolly will spread.

yeah...you're right.

if i qualify for the circuit city credit for 18 months no interest i'll get the panny 42" 1080 p, otherwise i'll just exchange the sammy, which i like a lot anyway.

i called circuit city today, and told them the situation, and was also wanting to buy a 3 year extended warranty through them. the sales rep told me that if i bought the warranty, that i could contact a repair man through them and have him come down and see if he could repair it. something about phospors or ...something (not too keen on the lingo and technical aspects of the plasmas)

but that the one pixel issue was something that happens and should be repairable. if he couldn't fix it, then she said just bring it in for another tv or a full refund.

totoally cool, as i live an hour away from the store i bought it from and didn't really want to lug the tv back. if this can be repaired at the house without me having to do a thing but make a phone call, then i'm going that route.

ALSO! just got HD satellite, and was catching the ball game (cleve vs rsox) and was really impressed by the detail ...even the grass from the view from the pitchers mound. only thing that sucks though is that i'm going to have to do some SERIOUS color tweaking. everyone looks all jaundiced as if they had hepatitis, skins are all yellow...or yellow green. i've got a friend who has one of those calibrator dvd's, thinking of borrowing it from him.

Cool

Sounds like you're just entering the HD world. Welcome. I was blown away too when I got my DVR and hd-cable package. It truly is amazing, but blurays are even better! Definitely get your tv fixed cuz that 1 pixel will drive you crazy!
