It's EXTREMELY underused in my opinion. But, it is an internet-based "special features" add-on that could allow for content to be added to the film experience.
So far, the best integration of BD-Live that I've seen is with the ability to watch a film simultaneously with other people who own the film. Yes. you and a friend in another city/country could set it up so that your Blu-ray players sync up and start the film at the exact same time! Sadly, it's not a common feature on many Blu-rays though. I still think that BD-Live needs to look at more practical applications. For example, the best thing I could think of for its application is subtitles. My girlfriend is Japanese and sometimes has trouble following quick dialogue or advanced vocabulary, but hardly any Blu-rays in Canada or the U.S. have Japanese subtitles. Why can't they put all language subtitles on a server somewhere and allow for the user to be able to download or stream subtitles onto their Blu-ray playback? ![]() |

BD-live just means on-line available content that is reachable through the menus.

Thanks all guys, i also google some information from the internet.
BD-J refers to the interactive menu. BD-Live is a Blu-ray Disc Profile2.0 feature, and you must download the BD Live content and then to enjoy it. To enjoy a BD-Live, you need enough bandwidth, BD software for BD-live, Blu-ray Disc Profile2.0 player and BD-live disc. By the way, the latest PS3 can support the BD-live function. PS: It is really a complicated thing, so i am still a little confused about it. |
