Default Back to the Future II Hoverboard Prop Replica

Just got mine in last week. There have been a lot of complaints about it online. I considered shipping it back based on what I've heard but now that I have it out I'll keep it. It's my first prop replica and I really don't want to send my first one back.

Very nice

I wouldn't send it back. What have been the issues raised about it?

Cheers!

This sums up pretty much all of the complaints:

Without reading the complaints (yet, but I will), I would say that the hoverboard looks awesome. And as a fan of BTTF, I would keep it.

Nice purchase!

I thought about getting this because I'm a huge Back to the Future fan but I saw a review for it that kind of killed it for me. From what I saw in the review it just seems like a shoddy product made in hopes of luring in fanboys. The stickers and stuff were already starting to peel in the review I saw which I'm sorry but for over $100 should not be the case. For now it's a sad pass for me. I'd rather have figures truthfully anyways.

I think it's important to note that while Bob Gale came out against this product a couple of weeks ago, he didn't outright slam it - he just said that it wasn't quite up to the quality one might expect for its price tag, and he kinda apologised for initially promoting it (although it really wasn't his fault).

I think it still looks pretty damn cool!

Does it come with the bar which he rips off after taking it from the little girl?

No, but it does screen-accurately not work on water.

If you did the pre order it came with a 6" version of the hoverboard that included the handlebar.

The 6" model sounds nice. Would like to have that on my desk. Sad they didn't release that separately.

Looks good for a $29.99 replica, but for $100+, nope.

I don't like BTTF II anyway.

Looks badass from an initial glance, but stickers peeling fresh out of the box is TRULY shoddy workmanship for such a priced piece, not to mention they didn't even bother to use Lenticular stickers like the prop is insulting.

Last edited by OrbitalDropPodTroop; 12-27-2012 at 06:44 AM. Reason: Forgot about the lenticular stickers not used...
