Default Movies 4 You: Timeless Westerns (1964-1979)

Butch & Sundance: The Early Days: A prequel to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, chronicling the two outlaws' lives (played by William Katt, and Tom Berenger) in the years before the events portrayed in the hit Paul Newman/Robert Redford movie. (1979)
The Last Hard Men: Charlton Heston plays a retired sheriff who suddenly gets back in the saddle after the man he put away a decade ago (James Coburn) escapes and kidnaps his daughter. (1976)
Rio Conchos: An ex-Confederate (Richard Boone), two Army officers and a Mexican bandit team up to find the thieves who are supplying guns to renegade Indians/outlaws for the purpose of resurrecting the Civil war. Also features Jim Brown (1964)
Take a Hard Ride: A loyal cowboy, whose boss died during an arduous cattle drive, vows to take the money made from the sale of the herd to the man's widow. Accompanied by two offbeat companions he encounters killers, thieves, and a ruthless bounty hunter. (Jim Brown, Lee Van Cleef) (1975)

This looks like an amazing film.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm glad to see these four on Blu-ray, but I why is there a DVD logo on the disk on the picture?

I will add the usual and hope the transfers are good and in the proper aspect ratio - it appears two are 2:35 and the others 1:85. I would like to support Timeless if these turn out to be worth purchasing.

Yes, when Shout released them on double features they were in their original aspect ratio and were in great condition.

I really hope that someone from Blu-Ray.com reviews this set, I know it might not be the most popular set but it is one that I think should have a review for since some are a little skeptical about how the quality will be(me included).

Looking forward to seeing Rio Conchos. Richard Boone was an underrated actor in the Western genre. Great price for the set as well.

I see someone here gave a user review and it looks as though the transfers are pretty decent along with all of them being oar from what I read. Good news!

Yea the quality is quite good and better then I thought it would be. Now, I do own the double features by Shout and these do look better than the DVDs. Plus, don't expect anything like South Pacific, but these are pretty good.

I just received this today and even though I don't have a reference quality system, Rio Conchos (the only movie I've watched so far) is amazing. Considering that this movie was made in the transition period between the adult western of the '50's and the spaghetti western of the '60's, the elements available must be pretty good. I am more than pleased and the price couldn't be better. Four movies for under $15 and Blu-Ray.

The only thing that seems dumb to me is the lack of thematic unity here. It's probably because I specifically want Take a Hard Ride and don't have any interest in Butch & Sundance, but I wish they could've rustled up four blaxploitation westerns or westerns with the same actors, since Rio Conchos and Ride both have Jim Brown.
