Default The Thorn birds on Bluray?

Is there any change of this magnificent mini-series being released in Bluray, or the original material isn't Bluray worthy?

edit: Oh, i see it was shot on 35mm! So i guess, it could be released.

Yeah, this is one of the guiltiest pleasures ever to be aired on network television! I'd totally purchase this on blu-ray to see it again for the first time.

One of my wife's favorites. We have it on DVD but I know she would love to see Richard Chamberlain in 1080P. When she is happy I am happy.

Just started watching the series for the first time. I was really disappointed that the DVD starts with a spoiler filled summary of the show. I frantically grabbed my remote to skip but it was too late.

Good thing the show holds it own and I've been sucked in after the first episode. Was this spoiler filled summary included in the original TV broadcast?

It's available on streaming in HD. I bought it on Vudu for $20, and the 1080p picture looks quite nice. The aspect ratio is 1.78:1 instead of the original 1.33:1. I was hoping for Blu-ray too. 2023 is the 40th anniversary of this show, so it would be a good time to release a special deluxe Blu-ray set! But who am I kidding? Nowadays the big studios aren't going to release deluxe anything on physical media. So, if you want to see this HD, the streaming version would have to do. Besides Vudu, it's available on Google, YouTube, and Apple too. Amazon seems to only sell the SD version, but only at $11.

That was the way the show opened when it first aired in 1983, so that intro has to be included. It's not that bad. It gives you just a glimmer of later episodes, but not that much.
