Over a year after being picked up Undateable is finally premiering tonight. I like Bill Lawrence's shows so I'll give it a shot, but it's with the knowledge that this show is almost certainly dead on arrival and won't last beyond it's initial run.
The link has a story by Bill Lawrence about the show's development, the stars (and Lawrence) doing a comedy tour to promote the show and his feelings when he learned it wasn't airing in the fall and then learning it wouldn't be airing during the regular TV season. http://grantland.com/hollywood-prosp...-show-in-2014/ |

The debut of "Undateable" scored as the highest-rated summer comedy series premiere on the Big 4 networks in five years, since ABC's "The Goode Family" on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.
It's also NBC's highest-rated summer comedy series premiere since "Come To Papa" on Thursday, June 3, 2004. In total viewers, "Undateable" is the biggest overall audience for a summer comedy series premiere on the Big 4 nets in seven years, since CBS's "Creature Comforts" on Monday, June 4, 2007 and best for a summer comedy series premiere on NBC since "Come To Papa." |

Exactly four weeks after NBC aired the final episodes of Undateable‘s first season, its star and creator took to Twitter with some very good news: Danny and the gang are coming back for a second season.
Chris D’Elia was the first to share the comedy’s Season 2 renewal with fans. Creator Bill Lawrence quickly followed that up with his own version of the good news. Undateable premiered outside of May sweeps to 3.8 million total viewers and a 1.3 demo rating, marking the best-rated summer comedy launch for any Big 4 network in five years. In a recent TVLine poll, 87 percent voted in favor of renewal. This marks the second new NBC summer series to earn a renewal, following the medical drama The Night Shift. http://tvline.com/2014/07/31/undatea...-season-2-nbc/ |

Glad it's coming back. It wasn't amazing but it's better than most summer programming and I'll always watch Bill Lawrence's shows. I figured it was pretty much DOA when it got a summer slot but it surprised me and performed well by NBC's standards.

99% of the shows mentioned in this thread, I never heard of before reading their names just now
![]() Anger Management and Scrubs are the only ones I've heard of and watched. Cougar Town I've heard of, but never watched. And only heard of because they play the commercials about 50 times a week on TBS. The others, I've never heard of before. Last edited by Scarface32; 08-01-2014 at 01:17 PM. |

Undateable's second season will premiere on Tuesday, March 17 on 9 PM ET. It's interesting that they're moving it into the regular television season rather than the summer. It seems like they want to see if it could potentially become a part of their regular schedule, as all of NBC's comedies are tanking this year to the point where it wouldn't be a shock if NBC cancelled all their comedies.

They also might have trouble with how they filmed an East Coast and West Coast version for each live episode they did. There's a show that started on Netflix in November called Happy Merry Whatever, and features Brent Morin and Bridgit Mendler as a couple again... you can watch that and assume it's an alternate reality sequel. ![]() Last edited by kevin87; 01-06-2020 at 01:38 AM. |
