United Kingdom Hammer's Captain Clegg (AKA Night Creatures) Final Cut Blu Ray

Captain Clegg Blu-ray

Just saw this on Amazon to be released on 23rd June.

Hammer's Phantom of the Opera to follow on 21st July!

Don't Final Cut also have the home video rights to Curse Of The Werewolf?

Looks like good news!

Captain Clegg is probably my all time fave Hammer film! Here's hoping for a good job!

Hopefully there won't be aspect ratio snafus like on their release of Brides of Dracula. I saw the film recently and thought it was a pretty fun pulp thriller and Peter Cushing has a strong part.

Pre-ordered! I love the Dr. Syn character.

From what I've read on Roobarb's forum (where folk seem to be very particular and knowledgable about this sort of thing) the HD master for this is in the incorrect 2:1 aspect ratio and the existing DVD is also in that ratio. Presumably that is what Final Cut are licensing. It's a shame but it won't stop me from buying it.

No further news regarding this release? Details of the presentation or special features. It's just 2 weeks from release, Final Cut surely ought to drum up some buzz for it.

There's an assumption that it will be 2:1. Nothing more.

This seems to be one of the few Hammer films I haven't seen and looking at the trailer on Youtube it doesn't look like a straight horror film at all despite the Night Creatures alternative title which makes it sound like a monster film.

This doesn't seem like my type of film on which I could justify spending £20+ as a blind buy to be honest.

I think I would rather buy and almost certainly enjoy more the upcoming Network titles starting with Hands of the Ripper.

You won't have to spend £20+ on it as it's only £10.37 at Amazon at the moment
