Norwegian Paramount department anounces Godfather/Indiana Jones on HD-DVD 2k8 - Blu-ray Forum

Apparantly Paramount intends to release The Godfather trilogy and the Indiana Jones trilogy in 2008 on HD-DVD according to the article above.

Excerpt;

– Ja, både Gudfaren-filmene og Indiana Jones-filmene kommer på HD DVD neste år, sier Paramounts norske sjef.

Translation:
Q: Any goodies from the archieves?
A: Yes, both the Godfather movies and the Indiana Jones movies are coming to HD-DVD next year.

Does this guy deserve a new Paramount-smackdown by the Spielberg camp or did he actually break som news here?

Why was this moved to offtopic? I thought this was some controversial news since these movies are controlled by Steven Spielberg?

The Godfather might happen but i cannot see the Indy Trilogy getting released unless its on both formats.

You have to wonder why they didn't release those this year, as they would have been very welcome for the other side.

I wouldn't worry about Indy. Spielberg/Lucas have the final say on any future releases.

The Godfather shouldn't even be in those bastards (Paramount) hand's with what they were going to do to the original negatives.
