4th Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie in the works

International distributor 4K Media Inc. announced on Tuesday that a new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie is in development in Japan. Kristen Gray, 4K Media Inc. senior vice president, commented, “We're thrilled to bring the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters back to theater screens for their enthusiastic fan base.”

4K Media is now shopping for a distributor for all territories outside of Asia, and is promoting the card game and anime franchise at Licensing Expo, which opens in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the fifth main Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series inspired by Kazuki Takahashi's original manga, premiered in Japan this past spring. Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie played in the United States in 2004, followed by the Japanese film Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond Time in 2010 to mark the franchise's 10th anniversary.

Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions Film Slated for Next Spring in Japan, Late 2016 Internationally

International distributor 4K Media Inc. announced at its Yu-Gi-Oh! panel at Comic Con International on Saturday that the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! film, now titled Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions, is slated for spring 2016 in Japan and later in 2016 outside of Japan.

The panel featured Yu-Gi-Oh! manga creator Kazuki Takahashi as guest for Q&A and live drawing. He also shared some of his character designs for the film.

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine teases the film's story, which takes place six months after the end of the manga:

In the past Yūgi Yami and Kaiba have clashed many times!! Yami Yūgi, who resides in Yūgi Mutō's body, and Kaiba will have a duel that bets their prides and accepts each other's mutual experience.

Shunsuke Kazama will return to voice Yūgi Mutō, and Kenjiro Tsuda will return to voice Seto Kaiba as the stars of the film.

4K Media announced last June that a new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie was in development in Japan.
