Hey,

I was just thinking back about Golden Axe the other day. Must be about 20 years ago that I was getting pretty good at it but spending quite a few quarters too.

EDIT - I checked it started in 89 which is only 18 years ago. I thought I played it further on back then that but I guess hindsight isn't 20/20.

Those screen shots look great.

Looks half as impressive as Heavenly Sword to me, very drab, not much variation in colour or surface type. The lead female should be the best modelled object on screen but she looks like a low-poly mess.

Doesn't look too bad to me so far but it's probably still very early in development. Still unknown which platform is the lead platform for development. I'm hoping for the PS3 to be the lead platform so we don't get a watered down port. I'm also hoping for online co-op.

Looks promising, hopefully they will do some serious touchup on the graphics before releasing it, and, hopefully it's not subpar in the way Conan was.

Golden Axe has to be multiplayer (offline or online) for it to even be considered golden axe. Alot of decent games came out that are similar enough in genre but failed in some way to make me like them like I did with GA when it origianlly came out.

The game demon stone comes to mind. It used the Two Towers game Engine to mix Forgotten Realms characters(Drizzt,Khelben)/World(Faerun) and was a decent but short game. I bought the game for $10 and it was worth it.

Gauntlet follwed recently as well with an action rpg type game. I pretty sure it came out last year called seven sorrows.
