A technical question, should i watch 1080P Blu-Ray discs on a standard anamorphic wide screen setting or dot by dot/full pixel? Which is best?

Blu-Ray has only one default settings... it does not have anamorphic or non-anamorphic settings.... everything should be in beautiful 1080x1920 resolution....

Anamorphic widescreen is something DVD used to encode 16:9 video in a 4:3 format. It's a technique that is completely unnecessary on Blu-ray, as they are encoded in 16:9 from the beginning.

If you have a display that can do 1:1 pixel-mapping like my Pioneer Elite PRO-FHD1, you should be watching your Blu-ray Discs in "Dot-by-Dot" mode every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

As Phane says, Blu-rays are in a 16:9 shaped dot by dot frame natively; while DVD encodes 16:9 and 4:3 video on a 3:2 (NTSC)/5:4 (PAL) frame

yea go dot by dot for watching your blu-rays but when you are watching regular tv turn onn the dot by dot because there is some stuff in the broadcasts that belong in the overscan that you don't want to see.

Reason i asked q originally is because dot by dot offers more image but i get an unsightly blue line right at the end of the image on right hand side of tv vertically, why is that?
