Default Ultimate BD Demo Sequences!

Since we have come quite a long way in the format, I am wondering what your ultimate BD demo sequences are?

Please read to the end before you post.

Several criteria have to be fulfilled to qualify, so let's keep this as objective as humanly possible.:

1. The picture quality has to be flawless. (Also for a layperson)
2. It must be an active surround sound sequence.

3. It must have one additional spectacular element to it, be it insane LFE, or the most vivid colours known to humankind.

My choice is 45771_large.jpg, precisely chapter 10 to 01:01:47.

It's literally perfect, as it features both quiet and subtle surround sound, atmospherics, such as wind, as well as wild surround action and cool LFE, albeit for no other reason than being just that, I guess. Lol
Furthermore, the imagery is composed of close-ups, various materials, substances and materials, such as wood, stone, cotton, metal, etc., and grand, impressive vistas of nature, plus slow and fast action.
It's my ultimate sequence.

What is yours?

I suggest you re-watch the sequence before you post, just to make sure it actually qualifies.

For example: The opening battle in Master and Commander doesn't apply, since the PQ is less than stellar.

It needs to be extraordinary in said categories.

If you're testing LFE there are two scenes that everyone should use. The first is the seismic charges scene from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and the second is the when the tripod is first seen in War of the Worlds.

Please read before posting, although the Attack of the Clones sequence certainly qualifies.

Well, the PQ isn't something that most "regular" people would be impressed with, is it? It's mostly about the sound, as the PQ is grainy and heavily stylized.

Think Demo trailers. They don't have grainy PQ. I like it, but non film fans mostly don't.

If you can't include the likes of War Of The Worlds, I do not see the point of this thread. You could post 10 pages of titles and none will come close to the LFE of this title. Also, saying it can't be included because it is grainy sends out the wrong message, it is suppose to be grainy, the BD is a faithful rendition of the source material.

Me too, but let's put it this way: How many non BD freaks out of 10 would agre with us? It should be super clean, or beautifully filmic, like Iron Man or Ghostbusters II.

A film doesn't have to be devoid of grain to be clean looking. Just my opinion of course.

Sorry, but this is not a thread about LFE, We already have at least one of those.

Please read above.

Sends the wrong message to whom?

I personally prefer finely resolved film grain as in Ghostbusters II, but sometimes I like the intentionally grainy look like WotW, or Minority Report (partially), but this thread is for ULTIMATE DEMO sequences, not LFE, of surround. Have you ever seen a THX, DTS, or Dolby trailer that is grainy?

Come on guys. We already have enough of those other threads.

WOTW mix is not just about the LFE, the entire mix is reference, LFE is just the standout.
The message that is being sent out is that it is not demo worthy - if the film is grainy and nothing could be further than the truth. Picture quality should be judged on how transparent the transfer is to the original source material, regardless if it is very grainy or without it.
A thread on demos with the digital smooth look and little to no grain is under a different title than what this thread contains. Just my opinion.

I know. You can use that list, to add titles. I am sure you know the PQ of those titles from that list.

Just saving your topic.

Since this thread is already way off topic, I'll just throw out there that I watched Prometheus for the first time last week (in 3d) and was blown away by how good that looks. I'm sure I could find a great Demo scene in that film.

I would go with any of the IMAX sequences from The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises. To pick one is tough but I'll go with the tunnel chase from The Dark Knight.

The scene where Shaw and Holloway talk to Vickers in her cabin is a good one for the 3D.

It's better to just pick one sequence, but tell us the exact beginning and end, for instance:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen 59:11-01:03:35 (The forest fight, which I think has the best and most effective IMAX sequence of any movie I have seen yet.)
