I don't like sony audio products that much so I think i'll pass. I'm sure it will become much more common in another year or so and at much better quality.

I like Sony receivers and this sounds nice but I highly recommend the five year extended warranty most stores offer.

Jesus!

Look at the shear number of holes....

Waaah, this is crazy indeed. I've never seen any other device like it in my entire life.

It really isn't that scary you should check out some of the crazy pre-amps out there that have far more inputs plus a whole bunch of different outputs ie XLR and RCA

It only has 3 HDMI inputs - I already exceed that.

Yes, this is one of the finest Pre-Amp/Processors on the market, along with Mark Levinson's, and Arcam's AV-9 . Within the last couple of weeks I sold the Lexicon MC-12 HD (with the Mike Kit) along with the (then unannounced) Lexicon ZX-7 Amplifier at 300w x 7. Set my customer back $ 25,000.00 for these pieces. It's nice to cater to the ultra rich and enjoy what they enjoy, even if it's only for a short while, during and following the installation. Next week I will upgrade his speaker system from legacy's to Revel Ultma II package. He'll be shelling out another $ 42,000.00 . But he doesn't mind, he just sold some prime property and made over $ 240,000.00 net profit. I told him I'll help him part with about $ 80-100,000.00 of that, and he smiled while writing me the check.

Jim

I like the integra series. I have the dtr 7.6 only has 2 hdmi but it produces great sound and I didn't have to take out a loan for the rest of my life to get it. I don't like the sony recievers they push the speakers wrong and they sound like what I would decribe as a tinny tweater sound.

Look up these beasts:

Onkyo TX-NR1000 and its brother the Integra DTR 10.5...something like that... Same thing.

Uber expensive, but I love the idea of customizing it the way you want and spending the money on what you want and what you don't want.

I have only seen one 10.5 dtr but man that thing rocked. Very inpressive. I have always been impressed with onkyo/integra's products. Bag for the buck IMO it is one of the best receivers out there for the $900-$1400 range. however everyone has there own sound preferences. I have heard good things about denon too.

This is in the cathegory of uber-consumer electronics?

If they'd retail for a consumer electronics model...
