Default Harry Potter: Separate vs. Set

OK. Question.

To get the Harry Potter movies separately or as part of the Gift Set.

The Gift Set supposedly comes with 7 Discs. Heres what I want to know:

1. Do any of the separate movies come with 2 Discs or are they only one, which would equal 5 total discs as opposed to 7.

2. Why are there 7 Discs in the Gift Set. Are 5 for each of the movies and then 2 for Special Features or are there two movies that come with 2 discs?

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

All single Blus.

The 2 extra discs are DVDs, one with some kind of DVD board game on it and I forget what's on the other. Apparently it's pretty disposible stuff.
I plan to replace them with movies 6 and 7

Default Wait, hold up....

I want to make sure I understand this.

So, the HP set comes w/ 7 discs. 5 movies + 2 special features. So, then, you could technically (as you said) buy movie 6 & 7 on Blu and package them all together in the cool box, right?

Interesting I didn't realize that. I might get the set as well.

Also, can you confirm that special features for movies 1-4 are just those behind the scenes type shows that aired on ABC Family, HBO, etc.

I saw some of those and wasn't really impressed.

Keerectamundo

I'm waiting to see if I could put a slimpack DVD case in there or something with custom artwork or something so it at least has the right names on it

Personally the box is the major attraction for me, not necessarily the junk inside it, and the cheaper price

I've seen pictures of the DVD box set opened and layout out, but I have not seen the Blu-Ray edition. Will this box set also come like the DVD box set in Blu-Ray "books", or will they actually come in their original Blu-Ray logo cases?

Well damn. It's a small detail, but I could care less for the extras in the box set and I don't like the box. I'll just be buying the movies separately.

I got the set, but a 4 movies set, mind you !
Over here in Europe the 5th HP will only be released in January, that's why there are only 4 movies in the box.

But no matter because I did not keep the box anyways so the 5th will just join the first four in my shelves

I ended up buying them all separately... my OCD, I guess. I want my shelf to look definitively Blu... and that box-set could have anything in it. I don't mind the box-sets that hold normal BD cases, but sets like this take away from the cool "blu-ness" of my shelf.

Default Cost is the same

I just realized getting them seperately almost costs exactly the same as getting the gift set. I have never been into the harry potter movies, but my girlfriend likes them. I am thinking about just getting the first 2, and seeing if we like them, and getting the other 3 if we do. I'd consider the gift set if it was cheaper then getting the discs seperately. I don't care about the stupid tin can, with some extra bs in it...

As long as you buy all five, I'm sure Warner will be thrilled either way. That's why they are offering a box set and singles.

any news if the boxset will contain the normal blu-ray cases for the movies? I would like to avoid digipacks, so I may just end up buying them all separately so they can fit on my shelf.

Thanks.

No, there is 16000 threads asking that, and Warner posted a picture the day they announced it of the internals.

I'm going with the US box set and adding the new movies as they come out and I'll just put the DVDs in a slip case in the box
I've got the US box set for £41 including shipping and to buy the films separate in the UK will cost £90 and that's the best I can find with no extra discs too

Singles for me. I don't like box sets. I hate the box for Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Everything would have fit in a regular blu-ray case and would have matched the rest of my glorious blu boxes...

I don't know why they would release a gift set now since there are still 2 more movies in the story... I personally would rather have the complete HP set with all 7 movies on blu so wouldn't buy this gift set. If you like the movies just buy them all separately for now or wait till they release the whole collections in a few years.
