Default Star Wars Finally Coming to Digital?

Not sure if an April fools hoax, but a rumor is springing up about an April 10 release date on Vudu.

As reported on Yakface http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2015/0...oming-to-vudu/

The question is: edited versions or the original theatrical release?

Probably edited because they had the Bluray release.

Definitely no to start and later only if UV.
The other question is will there be a new Bluray release at some point with digital codes?

It depends on if it's being released by Fox or by Disney.

If you buy the bundle of all six films you get an extended Jedi Rocks as a bonus.

Probably not... The reason so many people have been doubting this is because FOX still owns the rights to A New Hope. If they are releasing the entire saga I'd imagine it's some sort of cross promotion or maybe just a vudu/walmart exclusive (similar to how Indiana Jones just went Instawatch not long ago.) either way if it pans out to be true it's a guaranteed purchase from me.

So anyone want to guess on a price?

I'm betting it's $19.99 a movie.

While I was somewhat skeptical of the Wal-Mart sign, the listings for those action figure sets makes this seem legit.

Yeah I can confirm. My store sells the Action Figure sets (I put them in order every night as I zone) and they do mention digital.

You know its funny, but I posted here about those action figure sets months ago when the package art showed up online from Hasbro and no one noticed my post or replied or anything. Even the star wars websites were like "here's some toy listings" but no one anywhere said "hey, the movies are finally getting digital releases!"

The figures are currently being stocked by Target in stores and they say "digital release commemorative versions" all over them. Its been "known" for awhile, but I guess people just don't really care about digital movies in the mainstream yet.

There isn't any way on God's Earth that this will be the theatrical releases. I keep holding out that Disney will announce those for a BD release, but I'm not foolish enough to actually hope for it at this point. This is probably the SE versions now that Disney have squared things away with Vudu.

If these come out, I might hold out until Star Wars Day on May 4th in hopes of a sale.

I keep forgetting everyone's so excited to pay for streaming rights for movies these days.

I would have thought the digital movies would come out the same time as a new Blu-ray set, but I guess not.
