Default Two Questions....

What Type Of HardCoating is Standard on a BD Rom Disc?

Is Durabis2 going to be used by the BDA anytime soon?

All TDK media will use it for sure. I think there are movies with Durabis_2 already?

As Dave said all TDK BD media will use Durabis. It appears that none of the studios are using it on their discs as of yet. There is an alternate protective coating being used which many have said is a very good alternative.

The TDK blank media I saw had Durabis mentioned on the sleeves.

So is the alternative almost as strong???? Has anyone taken a screw driver to their BD?

my understanding is that the coating is equal to that of durabis. AFAIK, TDK already has a durabis 2 out that is better than the alternative and the original.

Well I hope that Durabis 2 is cheaper than one so that the BDA will start to use it.

Have Blu-ray rental (movie) discs stood up well to mailing/scratches?
