Going by the reviews of Dead Things, it will be littered with compression artifacts and suffer from black crush.

True, I thought you could use your equipment Its amazing, smaller companies have current equipment but VCI cant afford it ? Maybe they arent doing well

They at least stepped up to VC-1 over the horrible MPEG-2. AVC would be better but they say they are looking for equipment they can afford. I am reading good things about Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things blu ray. Will see February 23rd.

Looking forward to RUBY on blu! The two DVDs I have look horrible (like its ripped from a worn out VHS) and non-anamorphic widescreen but one has an awesome commentary with Piper Laurie and Curtis Harrington. Love this movie!

No it hasn't be postponed by VCI yet. Its just Amazon had a March release date for some odd reason. They cancelled my pre-order as well. I am ordering directly from VCI or wait for DiabolikDVD.com has it up for pre-order (they have awesome prices on obscure films). Check out their website.
RUBY is not slated for release until mid to late May anyway.

Man, I didn't even know this was getting a Blu. I've almost bought the DVD a few times. Glad to hear it's coming out. I may be in the minority here but I'm absolutely grateful this is being released. As long as it looks halfway decent I'm a happy camper!
