Germany Halloween (1978) box

It's expensive, three discs, maybe theatrical cut, TV and soundtrack or standard blu, DVD and soundtrack

Ridiculously overpriced repack of the so/so 2012 German Disc by Concorde (€11.79 at amazon.de) with commentary and 45 minutes of extras: "On Location: 25 Years Later" featurette, interviews, trailers and TV spots and the Horror's Hallowed Grounds-featurette. This not the 35th anniversary transfer. No TV cut either. Packaged in a rather ugly blue (!!!) wooden box and similarly ugly Mediabook. Added "value": a DVD, the original soundtrack CD, 5 postcards, a small poster and a bottle opener (!). All this from a very shady company that doesn't even run a homepage... Old transfer, lack of more substantial extras and some cheap swag - a waste of your money.

(Sigh) That is the thing that gets me, Mr. Craven.

Considering how shady some of these European companies that release blu-rays are, what is stopping one of them from taking the 35th Anniversary video, color time it closer to the THX version, throw ALL the extras from ALL of the releases (the Anchor Bay dvd releases, the various blu releases) and put it in a decently designed mediabook or steelbook?

Considering a lot of those extras are in SD, you could pack a ton of those SD docs on one blu pretty easily.

If you're going to do this kind of thing, why not go for the gold?
