Default Blade Runner at Best Buy a Week Early

I was at the local BB here checking out the HP boxset and I noticed Blade Runner sitting on the shelf. It's not the briefcase set, but still pretty nifty. I wasn't a huge fan of the movie, so I didn't pick it up, but was still very tempted just because its Blu-ray. If my will starts to break down I may have to pick it up later.

Also reports of copies in BB Las Vegas and Houston. No such luck at my BB.

The sticker was $34.00. There were 3 of them out, and I am getting tempted to run back down there.

When Family Guy the Party pack came out it was a week before it was supposed to be out they had them out already and a customer asked for the price and they said it wasn't supposed to be out till next week so the employee grabbed all of them and put them in the back. So yeah they make mistakes all the time sometimes they don't even realize it.

Thumbs up Blade Runner @ BB

I was just at best buy checking out their blu-ray section and to my suprise, I saw thre copies of Blade Runner. Wasn't this supposed to come out next week? Anyway it was the special edition and it came in a box a little bigger than Planet earth. I didn't buy it cause I've got mine on order at amazon.

So I really didn't plan on buying this, but........... after a few hours I said kcuf it and ran back to the store five minutes before closing to pick it up anyway. By the time I got there they had realised what they did and removed the three sets from the shelf. The guy there said that they had sold one by mistake which could cost them a few thousand beans in fines and now I would have to wait a week.

I know. I know. I should have picked it up when I had the chance. The force is not too strong with this one.

I picked this up from Best Buy tonight.

The transfer looks great. If the Close Encounters transfer pleased you (and it should have), you'll like this one a lot too.

Audio on the Final Cut sounds great, too!

I haven't checked out any of the Archival cuts or the Workprint yet.

Oh, and it comes with a booklet inside (as seen in photo #2). Finally!

Watched my copy of the UK version last night - I agree it looks and sounds great. The really stunning bits are the special effects shots that were scanned from 65mm film, they might just be the sharpest and most detailed material I've ever seen on Blu-ray.

The Best Buy in Burbank had the 5 disc BR out on the shelf today as well. Not a fan but in case any of you are in the area and want to pick it up early.

Hi, it is not true! Check out the review at www.thedigitalbits.com

The three legacy versions are a bit softer than the final cut and feature Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound only. But sure fair enough, especially for that price!

Oops, and one more thing I forgot. The Workprint Version is also in HD, but with much less of quality...
