Default Melissa Benoist appreciation thread

Melissa Benoist with Supergirl has the distinction of being the first woman to play a female superhero on TV since Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman forty years ago.

I don't find she photographs all that well - although those leaks, holy MOLY - but in motion, and in the character of Kara, I find her so adorable.

I don't think that's a true statement no matter how you slice it. There have been numerous female superheroes on TV shows and movies since the Wonder Woman TV show.

Even if you mean "as a female lead" or "female-driven" TV show... The Birds of Prey TV show featured Huntress and Oracle, and eventually Black Canary.

I'm not knocking her by any means... but that statement just isn't a correct one.

Well there was at least another Supergirl or two after Linda Carter and those lovely Birds of Prey were the stars of their own show. Plus we had Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman, although I don't think that aired?

Yeah, that's what I mean... no matter how you slice it, that statement just doesn't work. There have been other female superheroes in TV and movies since Lynda Carter... and there have been headliners too, not just guest stars... so while female super-heroes are rarer than male ones on TV... this isn't the first time since the 1970s.

In the esteemed words of Chanel Oberlin ...

Hello, hookers.

Anyways, Melissa is stunningly cute. And I absolutely love the show. As a long-time Supergirl fan, this is like a dream come true. They do a perfect job of depicting Kara and her personality. The entire cast is excellent, especially Callista. It's SO great to see her again.

Supergirl will always be MY hero.

Very hot. Her husband is one lucky dude. He was on the show playing Cat Grant's son in a few episodes.

Yeah he was one of the contestants in The Glee Project, who then ended up on Glee.

Met her back in March at C2E2, and she just seemed off. Like she wasn't super fan friendly and she cancelled her other appearances shortly after.

I was super hyper to meet her and she was such a let down. Biggest bummer to meet all year in fact. Chyler, her co-star, was much nicer and at least made the day a little better.

I hate when that happens. You think all actors are cool and then when you meet one that isn't, it bums you out.
To this day, I still cannot NOT hate Mandy Moore for totally dissing me some 6 years ago now.

I think if she was having an off day and cancelled after, either she was sick, tired, or had personal stuff happening. You can't really gauge out a person until you meet them directly more than once. Yes, first impressions are everything and all that, but we are human. We have problems and sometimes they get to us. It happens to where they affect us internally that they manifest externally.

It's much harder to be a good person.

If I were a hot female celebrity, I'd probably be a total ***** diva, smacking random nerds around in comic cons with my $500 umbrella and laughing while I'm doing it. And I would get away with it.

Anyway, Jeb! was right about one thing--Melissa Benoit is pretty hot.

I wonder how many bodyguards it would take to get the mass of nerds off of seeking retribution...

And buying a $500 umbrella is like...spending $16,000 on an umbrella stand =P. It better be made out of something special that says "I must have this".

Nerds don't actually fight. They are a passive aggressive lot. They go on twitter or reddit and complain (Twitter is outraged!). But you go up to one face to face and smack em around, they'll shrivel like a 4 year old iphone. Since I have accounts in neither and wouldn't care about my online rep, too bad for them. Plus I'm hot and they're not.

Selena Gomez had a iIrkin bag a few months ago that worth at $12,000.

Most of these people live in a totally different world from the rest of us.
