I've been guilty of it before, but now I try to refrain from it. Not as much of a deal here, but on other forums it does make a difference.

While I don't do that, I don't mind it. The more tolerant you become, the more HD DVD fans that join and then things just spiral out of control (like most other sites). Basically, I think of this as a safe-haven for blu-ray fans so I don't mind people not tolerating HD DVD at all.

wtf are you talking about. This is an internet forum. Everything turns into slang. For Example: HD DVD is obviously worse than Blu-ray. So let's call it hddud.

OK sounds good.

What's wrong with calling Duds? Duds?

Is it our fault they're duds? What else are we suppose to call them?

Until they stop being duds, they will always be call duds.

Whether it gets old or not. Like a rapist, they will always be call a rapist, unless they stop being a rapist.

Sorry, but a dog is a dog, and a cat is a cat, it's that simple.

I do not even know where to begin with since there is such an over-abundance of mind bending idiocy in this single post.
It started out as minor dumb, and then just took a free fall into complete idiocy.

So are you saying HD-duds are normal people like us who don't misinform others to win?

I find this thread pretty funny.

I do not really give two craps about the term "dud" other than it is a bit juvenile.
What I find idiotic is the fact that you actually without a second thought compared hd-dvd supporters to rapists which is complete and total idiocy.
Be as into your choice as you want, but god damn have some sense.

looks like someone bought into the BS...

they don't like our forum for the same reason we don't like theirs...

we are biased..the site is called blu-ray.com

there is no reason to see someone here who doesn't support Blu-ray...

I'm not a fan of the term DUD...but I'm also not going to have a hissyfit over it...

Hmmm, well DUD sure rolls off the tongue better than HD-DVD. Plus, this is Blu-ray.com.

Just a side question...what does fud which has a meaning (fear-uncertainty-doubt) have in common with the "dud" thing?
The dud thing comes off as a little childish at times but it is not anything to lose sleep over.

I definitely agree with you, the whole "dud" slang term for HD DVD is obnoxious and childish.

I'm definitely not a fan of that term.

yeah...but was it really necessary to make a thread about this?..

he's just focusing on more negativity...

xtop has really been trying to stir things up...we have a positive vibe here and you keep trying to convince people we should be worried or that we aren't acting grown up enough

I disagree...

and while I don't think we should be complacent at all....you keep focusing on what we should be worried about rather what we can do to keep that edge...

which is buy Blu...
