Default blade runner?

maybe a dumb question...but why does blade runner have 5 disc? couldnt a bluray have all the extras on one disc...

They didn't have time to do HD compression, authoring and replication between the time the extras were finished and christmas. They're already scraping the deadline as it is.

Personally I think we could have done without anything but the final cut. It's the way Ridley Scott wants it, it's the only way it should be watched. After all, even the "director's cut" isn't really his DC(literally phoned in), the original theatrical was completion bonded on him, and the workprint wasn't finished.
