Say that WB is going BR. Do you really think they would admit it?
Look at every company in history. Apple: Oh we don't have an iPhone Sony: Oh we don't have a new PS3 The list goes on and on. |

That's good, because I'm not a troll. I have been a member of this forum longer than you have and I have a higher post count, too. I have been away for a while, hence my avatar. So apparently I didn't see that the news had been posted already. I would love for Warner to go Blu exclusive, but I'm afraid too many people here are considering it a done deal. And if it isn't announced at CES, then the let down will be dramatic for every Blu supporter that considered it a done deal. Let's all just remain hopeful, but prepared to not get what we want just yet.

They always release the same statment to reporters to ask them.. word for word...
it is a response they are told they HAVE to send out. This, to me, is only more evidence that there is indeed something going on behind the scenes. I mean look at Sony... "you will not see any more players from Sony going below $400 this year"... now we have one for less than $300! WB is just using this statement to keep their HD DVD and BD sales up, and not feed the flame of rumors to a very active format war. |

I have been considering to commit suicide if Warner does not go Blu exclusive at the CES at the latest. It would be either throwing myself under a train or out of a skyscraper's top floor |

Why does everyone think that for some reason these execs would announce this stuff to a news website or a blog, or anyone for that matter? Of course they will deny deny deny until it actually happens in a huge press release. These news articles mean nothing.

That would have gone well for all those HP HD DVDs they had contracted to have burned months aggo eh? Even if they do -everything- in house (doub they print their own DVD sleeves though, among other things), I'm pretty sure they have contractual obligations to their distributors, they have tons of Marketing / advertising going, etc.
I'm not saying they -will- go Blu at CES (even though I think they will), what I'm saying is that if they are about to, they'd be fools to anounce it officially at the Xmas corner... Last edited by Elandyll; 12-18-2007 at 02:54 PM. |

People are going to digest and read between the lines in every words they say. Whatever they say is going to affect the stock market. So they have to be very careful. I'm pretty sure they already know the answer or may be they're still working on it. The waiting is the hardest part and it makes everybody start jumping to their own conclusions.
Most of us just want to see this format war resolved already. It's been dragging on way far too long (DVD and Circuit City DIVX never last this long). DVD is just not selling like they used to anymore. With all the piracy going on. Poeple are making copies left and right so each companies are loosing a lot of money and they have to make a decision quick. Right now all Hi-def disc cost more than double regular DVD. Just times two every Hi-def disc sold. Best time to get into the market now before the price start dropping. Hi-def TV is flying off the shelves pretty soon all US household will be Digital ready, and forget about digital downloads that's never gonna happen. Maybe in the next 10 years if it ever catch on (with our internet speed, just forget it.) At this point we just gonna have to keep our fingers crossed and pray. May the Best man win. ![]() ![]() Last edited by xwingsct; 12-18-2007 at 04:37 PM. |
