Anyone pick this up?
The caps make it look like the terrible low detail HDTV version

Mine's been despatched this morning. A member on cinefacts.de has reported that the film is in 2.35:1, I believe that's the first time it's released on home video in Europe in that AR. As a bonus, it is also on disc in 1.85 and 1.33 (in SD probably). No new extra content, but it seems like most of the old DVD extras have been ported over. Can't wait, Holly Hunter & Delroy Lindo are a hoot!

...But unfortunately, much like the time when they were in Poland and I asked them to pick up Pulp Fiction, it'd be easier to just order the damn thing myself.

This was Danny Boyles first American Production - and iirc the budget was small for a film of this scope or so i remember hearing, last time i saw it it was a fairly 'dreamy' shot production

Colour me intrigued enough to chuck it in with my Retroactive pre-order.

**Ooh, German edition of Slither down to eight Euro. I'll bung it in with that instead**

I added a few shots: #10 shows some heavy print damage, #12 shows the end credit sequence with correct aspect ratios in both versions, 2.39:1 and 1.85:1.

I watched this last night. It's definitely the most dirt covered BD I have. It's not the best HD and a couple of shots of Diaz at the end look really bad. But it's so much better than my non-anamorphic dvd and I had forgotten how great Holly Hunter is in every scene she's in.

Wow, did not know this had been released and given up a long time ago looking! I love this movie. Does anyone know if this is region free (I'm in A)? I ordered it anyway for $16 USD shipped, but I'd love to be surprised if I could play this on my main Oppo, instead of my crappy region-free Insignia player.

Afraid it's region B only. Tested on my region free Oppo!

My thoughts exactly. I actually bought the UK DVD a long time ago to get anamorphic though it was 1.85:1. Then I bought the VUDU HDX to get HD, though that was still 1.85:1. I'm happy with this disc to get the OAR and lossless audio now, even if the PQ isn't the greatest.
