That would certainly make it better lol, although seriously, I hope that this means Salem's Lot will be released also.

If you like the actors, or other Stephen King miniseries, then yes. The common sentiment is that the fist part (which is now the first 90-odd minutes on DVD/BD) is better than the second part, however.

I would say yes.

If your a fan of Stephen King and 80's television horror then its worth blind buying it. Tim Curry as Pennywise steals the show.

Glad to see it getting a UK release although I do hope this is just to test the waters and next year they will release it fully uncut with the deleted scenes.

amazon.co.uk says "Currently Unavailable" so you can't preorder it.

Now that SALEM'S LOT and CAT'S EYE have been announced in the US alongside IT, what are the chances of all three getting a UK release? i'd rather not import, if the UK releases are going to follow a month later or whatever!

Studiocanal own the rights for Cat's Eye outside the US, so I doubt that one is coming soon. Though it looks like Warner licensed the director's commentary from the old UK DVD, so I guess you never know.

Is this presented in two parts, or have they been combined to create a 3 hour feature film?

They shot 30 hours of interviews for the doc and had a 4 hour cut done so its a shame we did'nt get a bunch of extended interviews as extra's.

I hope the backers will get something extra for the long wait and not just the standard BD release everybody else gets. E.g. a bonus disc with said extended interviews. Everything else would be more than a little disappointing.

I also hope the discs released in different territories will be identical regarding all the content because they already stated that US backers will get US discs, UK backers will get UK discs and the rest of the world will either get discs from licensing companies in their specific territory or will be supplied with either US or UK discs. If I end up with a disc containing less bonus materials than that from another territory or, in the worst case, with a German disc from some German company that localizes the delivered master and does not offer a reversible sleave for the FSK eatings logo, I'll be pretty pissed.

The backers wont get anything extra they'll get the same BD as everybody else. Now Cult Screenings could get a BD of extra's pressed themselves similar to the exclusive disc that was offered for Crystal Lake memories but they wont.

The backers were supposed to get an exclusive online screening before it hit streaming which never happened.
Which they have never really addressed why it didn't happen. I suspect the US deal they made with Shudder prevented this even though they said less than a month before the doc went live the screening would happen.
By the time the the backers streaming happens I feel many wont care given how long it will have been on streaming by this point and other means of viewing it online.

The campaign dragged on so long that I completely forgot I’d backed it until a month or two back. It seems to have been an utter sh*t show from start to finish, especially on the communications front.

I would not back any more campaigns that they run.

The trouble was they signed up deals to guarantee the completion of the doc but this also meant they signed alot of rights away (some they did'nt release)

They said they had to re-neogiate the contract they had signed with shudder in order to be able to release a blu ray.

There transparency and updates over the past two years has been pretty terrible (same with Robodoc)
When there are no updates it gives the impression that nothing is happening with the doc.

One thing that pissed me off was that they cancelled the backers screening and then went on a podcast a week after the doc hit streaming and one of the interviews said he was in the UK and had'nt seen it yet. To which the producer of the doc said to email Shudder and they'll send him a screener as "they want as many people to see it as possible"

So there offering podcasters free screenings but wont give the people that made the doc happen one.
