I just bought those official 2.4 ghz wireless ps-2 pads with battery acess-plus
over sixaxis having no acess and use a pelican ps-2 to ps-3 adaptor for games like lsw or customizable stuff like unreal or resistance. For some odd reason 3aaa baterys aren't included and the sticks have a very slight rubber smell-you'd need to shove them under your nose and take a wiff to notice. The analog button on the pad works as the home button on ps-3. Things i wish for dualshock 3: 1-removable rechargable battery 2-keep it light because we don't need very much extra weight 3-if it costs as much as a game that's not acceptable keep it around $39-45 because any more and i'll just buy a game. For battery acess and reasonable prices+14.99 for the adaptor the 29.99 wireless ps-2 pads can't be beat. |

Logitech did though, I used to have one w/ my ps2 and it did have the official sony logo on it. To the OP, why would you need battery access to the new dualshock3 for? I prefer it built in and not have to change batteries or anything. As far as weight I personally think the current ps3 controller could use a bit more. I've had several friends comment that it feels cheap so hopefully the new dualshock3's will give it a more solid feel to it.

Well i bought it at target in a yellow box with the official lisened logo on it so
if sony hasn't made it some1 did for them admididly a little late but check your local target ps-2 accessory section they have wired dual shock 2,wired with force 2 and wireless with force 2 all in that yellow packageing they use. The thing i miss most about sixaxis is the new shape of l2/r2 is most trigger like but the dual shock 2 doesn't have this just fatter flat buttons as normal though the motion controlls haven't been exicuted well as of yet so i don't really care about that. As for the battery issue i prefer poping rechargable batterys in and out so i don't NEED to be corded while low on juce. Xbox 360 has removable, rechargable batterys for around $12 then you can get a seperate charge station that even comes with a rechargable battery for 29. Or we could do it sony's way where when the battery finally cakes out you must take APART the controller to get to the battery so you can just chuck the whole thing and buy a new 1-but they want you to recycle anyway. Battery acess provides ease of use and sliping in charged batterys while charging used batterys WITHOUT getting a screwdriver set out is a great thing. It's all about cost and that's a cost saving feature for sony not very consumer friendly though. Last edited by justinbaily; 12-23-2007 at 04:24 AM. |

The dualshock 3 is heavier than the sixaxis because of the motors in it, but it is not uncomfortable. Whether a game uses rumble or not I use my dualshock 3 because it feels nicer (weight-wise). Generally speaking, when my PS3 is on I'll charge one pad whilst I'm using the other. I watch a lot of dvd/blu-rays too, so whilst I'm watching a film I keep my DS3 on charge. I've NEVER had to use either pad tethered to the console since I bought it in March!
I bought a USB adapter to make my PS2 pads work on my PC, as it happens it works on the PS3 as well. There is no PS button though. Vibration works for PS2 games (although now I use my DS3) but doesn't work on PS3 games. |

First off, your english is terrible.
I have no issues with the PS3 controller other than the missing vibration. The weight of it makes no difference to me - lightweight is just fine, it doesn't mean it is cheap and easily breakable. A removable battery for the PS3 would be a waste - I mean a single charge last a LONG time the way it is. Why not just plug your controller in when you're not using it -- I plug mine into my computer when I'm not using it. Never once have had to have it plugged into the console except for the earlier firmware updates. |
