Default Ip Man 4

Quote:
The IP Man franchise will continue with its star, Donnie Yen. On Instagram, Yen announced he’s making IP Man 4 with director Wilson Yip, who’s directed all of the films in the series. Here’s Yen’s announcement:

Quote:
I want to share this very excited news with you all, my good friend Wilson Yip, who had directed all of my last three Ipman series, tonight, we have decided to reunite and continue to make our next project together, Ipman4! Yes! I-P-M-A-N part 4!

I still need to watch Ip Man 3. Glad to hear the series is continuing.

I was happy with the main 3 movies as it is, wasn't expecting a 4th. What the heck, I'll take it, especially since Yen and Yip are returning.

It was far from terrible, maybe not as good as the first 2 movies.

Didn't Donnie say he's had enough of martial arts films because of his age?

I thought Donnie said he was moving away from martial arts movies? Oh well, as long as he keeps making 'em, I'll keep watching 'em. The whole Ip Man trilogy is amazing.

The "other" wing chun master that Ip Man faced in part 3 is getting his own spin off film as well. See the story here: http://theactionelite.com/2016/05/ma...-man-spin-off/

Not something I was asking for, but why not? I'm never going to turn down a Donnie Yen film.

I guess I'll watch it since I've seen all the other films based on Ip Man but this isn't exactly something I was clamoring for.

Kind of but it's not because of his age. By that he meant that he's taking a break from kung fu movies --- movies based on historical martial arts masters --- and concentrate on contemporary action movies until he finds a script that is new to him. While some here are already anticipating part 4, he's currently shooting Chasing the Dragon, a crime/action/biopic movie (based on a real Hong Kong gangster) which is due for release next summer.

I enjoy the series. nothing will top the first one, 2nd was a letdown and so was the third. Although i consider that one slightly better than 2.

Oh well, bring on the 4th

Donnie Yen vs. Scott Adkins = must-see
thankfully they didn't show anything of that fight in the teaser, hope they can keep it like this in trailers

I guess Yip Man ended up becoming the Wong Fei-Hung of this generation.

I still find Jackie here much more explosive and improvised than Donnie. But thats not a knock on Donnie, just different approaches I guess.
