With the recent announcement of a Blu Ray edition for Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl, 4 Movie Collection I did some digging to see exactly what it is.

In numerical order the movies are numbered 10, 11, 12, 13. Wiki Source Here.

Based on the Wiki info, I am pretty sure it is the same exact series of movies currently available down-under on dvd. Shown in a Link Here.

Viz is releasing this? I hope it's true; The Rise of Darkrai is probably my favourite Pokemon film.

The only problem is, the 4-7 set has become nigh impossible to find. At least for me, it has.

I have that and the 1-3 and pre-ordered this out of misplaced nostalgia for pre-ordering 1-3 about a year ago but I guess I'm shit out of luck on 8 and 9, ha ha.

I have the 4-film set, but mine features just the Pokémon 4Ever artwork not the 4 different movie covers.

There were a few bootleg copies going around eBay last year, like with everything else.

If you scan through the newly listed Pokemon DVD/Blu-rays on eBay you can find one for under $20 if you keep at it.

weren't those with the original Miramax set? I don't know the regions they correspond to lol

I wonder why they skipped over 8 (Lucario and the Mystery of Mew) and 9 (Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea) though, they were both from Viz.

Maybe I just suck with the editor on this site but I cannot get the master id to take all 4 movies correctly still. A few of them get the wrong covers and movies still!

Miramax has the rights to Pokemon Heroes, Jirachi Wish Maker and Destiny Deoxys. They used to have 4Ever but that seems to have reverted back to TPCi somehow around the 20th Anniversary earlier in the year.

Miramax handles the first two Hoenn movies (Jirachi Wishmaker (6) and Destiny Deoxys (7)). I don't understand why they skipped 8 and 9 either, especially since the eighth movie STILL lacks a physical widescreen home video release in the USA.

I think that only applies to digital releases. The Lionsgate DVD of 4Ever hasn't really gone out-of-print despite TCPi releasing the movie digitally.

I wouldn't be surprised if a double feature release came out of the Lucario/Ranger movies. Both of them were released remastered digitally on the same day a year+ ago. Lucario also received a re-release 2 years ago on DVD.

Fingers crossed for 5.1 surround tracks on this release.
I hope they didn't opt for stereo tracks like they did for the Pokemon Movies 1-3 steelbook that came out earlier this year.

Honestly, I want to get this but at the same time I don't. I've only seen the Darkrai movie on Hulu, and I didn't care for it. That doesn't mean I'll feel the same way about the other three, but as someone who was hoping for an 8/9 double feature, I'm a little disappointed. The cover art is nice though. I probably will end up getting it despite my nitpicking.

I have to turn my mind completely off to watch most of the Pokemon episodes or movies. It has to be one of those days where I can totally relax and not focus on anything. That said.. I've only seen the Darkrai and Zoroark movies in this set and I didn't care for either of them. Darkrai was decent though.

My enjoyment of the ones I have seen (the first 10, 17-18) depends. I don't care for Darkrai, Diancie, and especially Hoopa. I probably have nostalgic bias over the 4Kids dubbed ones, but I honestly think 2000 is weaker than The First Movie and 3. I enjoy 4Ever but I see its faults, same with Heroes. Jirachi and Deoxys are just okay, but I like Lucario, and Pokémon Ranger, which I only saw recently, might actually be one of my favorites of the series, if only for the scenes with May and Manaphy among other things.
