Can you link to some examples where they've been wrong? Thanks in advance.

The trailer for this looks interesting. Not going to the cinema for this but the UHD will probably end up on my shelf once it has been released.

I'm going to be hoping for the two hours plus extended cut.

I still have no idea how this movie is only going to be 95 minutes. That is shorter than Despicable Me.

Probably because Sony thinks it's going to bomb hard, so at least if it's shorter they can try and pack in as many showings a day as they can for that first week or so.

Are you f'ing kidding me?? A huge, multi-book epic condensed into something shorter than a PIXAR film?

Yeah, this movie is going to make a boatload.

How much of the series is being put into this one film though? There’s been talk if it being Part 1 of a series, presumably should it perform well. I’m skeptical of the quality regardless (where are the reviews for this thing?).

Pre-ordered that. I like the look of the trailers, but I expect it to get hit hard and fast by critics. Everybody will be looking to eat.

The trailers don't leave me inspired in the slightest. Looks to be yet another densely packed, intricate story turned into a rote, paint-by-numbers, Save-The-Cat type script.

I will definitely enjoy it, but make no mistake, I enjoy lots of terrible movies. This will be terribly enjoyable or enjoyably terrible.

I just can't buy Matthew as this villain

These two actors working together on almost anything else would get me hyped out of my mind. But this? I just can't muster up any shred of enthusiasm.

Idris Elba's accent is horrific, and Matthew McConaughey's phrasing is way off, judging from the trailers. They should have just let Elba use his natural English accent, and as for McConaughey, I never thought he was the right choice, physically, and the trailers aren't doing much to assuage my doubts there, either.

I hope It does a lot better, to convince the studios that King adaptations need to be R-rated and/or geared at adults.

Very few supernatural based King stories have done well being translated to the screen for various reasons. Usually the best horror based King films are only loosely based on the original concepts (like Kubrick's The Shining) or they're dramas from easier-to-adapt sources like The Body or Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.
