Default Anyone Play Fight Night Rd.3?

Not sure if anyone still plays this game, but I'm a big boxing fan.

I know it get's flack from some saying the gameplay's shallow, but having played it a LOT, I've found it to be simple to get into, but very deep, strategy plays a big part when you are up against the better fighters in career mode.

Must be time for a sequal!

hate to be the one to break it to you but EA closed down their Chicago branch. they are the ones who made the flop that was DEF JAM ICON and they made the awesome boxing game fight night. its too bad that they closed down but i guess EA will HOPEFULLY keep it going in another branch BUT as of now, fight night franchise is canceled indefinatley.

Such an amazing game. As for Icon. I don't really care for Rap, but that game owns. I love it and I will continue to play both titles.

I played the hell out of FNR3. I downloaded the demo for Icon and loved it, then I rented it and got REALLY tired of it REALLY fast. I'm a huge Rocky fan, I'm still waiting for them to come out with a decent Rocky game. I have him as a created character in Fight Night.

It was my first PS3 game. I actually busted it out again recently and fought my way to the top.

I only played FNR3 on my friend's 360, but being a big boxing fan also, I loved the game and was happy to see the boxers they were able to licence. It would have been cool to see more boxers (Tyson, Hatton, Calzaghe, Klitchko... I could go on and on).

But yeah, I read about EA closing their Chicago unit which handled Fight Night. I guess they didn't fire the main guy who was behind the title so I guess there's a glimmer of hope.

I also read a small blurb about 2K making a boxing game. Apparently Pavlik said something about him signing up for that title, though I guess he wasn't supposed to say anything. So maybe if there's no FNR4, maybe we'll see another cool boxing game on it's way.

I think Fight Night is still on. I have a friend at EA Richmond and sounds like its been in the works since summer.

Their last fight was one of the best fights I've seen. I can't wait for him to pound the crap out of Taylor at an even bigger weight class. Seems a natural move for Pavlik. I can't imagine why Taylor wanted the jump. It'll be a good whomping.

Surely closing a studio doesn't mean a title is lost? They just move it to another one, like Eidos did with Tomb Raider.

I love the FN games and played them all on PS2, but I've always been reluctant to pick it up on PS3 in case number 4 turns up.

No Fight Night 4, we've got this on the way from EA instead:

An arcade boxing game. Hmm, not sure I'm happy about that, but it could be fun?

Well I picked up FN3 for PS3 and am really enjoying it, except for online play which is a complete pain. I spent over half an hour trying to get a match on but every time the other player dropped out or I lost my EA server connection.

So I'm playing career mode instead ("hard" of course). How do I get the ESPN news running when I'm playing offline? Surely the PS3 can grab the news without me having to tell it do? Or are EA that useless?

Do a quick search online there are all sorts of fan sites that help you create famouse fighters. They even help you create celebrities pretty realistic too. I myself created rocky.
