Saw this film on Monday as part of its U.S. premiere. Gillian shows some growing pains as a first time feature director, with some pacing and story issues, as well as weird aspect ratio switches (often it goes from scope to flat in flashback scenes, except it isn't consistent at all and a number of flashbacks remain in scope seemingly for no reason), but also real ambition. And as an actress, she completely shines here with a deeper performance than I've seen from here before.

Not a perfect movie, and definitely will be too heavy for some people, but an interesting debut.

Looks like a flop in the few theatres it's in.

AMC Eden Prairie in Minnesota only sold 2 tickets for the 3:40pm showing (in less than an hour). Smaller theatre, like 50 seats.

AMC Rosemont in Chicago sold 2 tickets for the 2:45pm show in a theatre of 165 seats.

AMC Ahwatukee 24 in Phoenix, 5 tickets sold for the 2pm.

AMC Westminster in Colorado has NO tickets sold for 2:30pm showing.


Also: these few theatres are only showing it twice a day.
