Default Panasonic ZT60 VS Sony AF9 OLED

Finally a video comparison between the two tech displays, and a comparison between flagship models.

The Plasma still beats OLED in color quality, color temperature, and properly producing better skin tones. I would suggest watching the whole video, it's very interesting.

Well for starters, besides the fact that they were power hogs, the build quality of these sets was well below previous Panasonic standards. My ZT60 failed for the first time after just 3 years. Replaced all the boards inside and 9 months later it failed again. This was a VERY common occurrence for owners of this set. There are threads devoted to it over at AVS. I guess to be competitive price wise, Panasonic cut corners in the quality of the internal parts. I hated scraping mine, but after the 2nd failure I moved on. It was a beauty though while it lasted.

Weird. My VT60 is still going strong. I had a pink "blob" issue but I fixed it by making a VSUS adjustment in the service menu. Otherwise, I'm into my 6th year with it and it looks amazing as ever.

My ST60 is going strong as well and on my 6th year with over 20,000 hours! The TV is on for over 16 hours on average each day except weekends which is less.

Wait, there is a way to get rid of the pink blob issue? How, and how do you access the service menu because I tried doing it as some forums suggest it and it never works on me.

Yeah, just click this link and it'll explain it.

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/167-p...-s-thread.html

Basically you press and hold the Volume Down button ON the TV itself and then press the info button on the remote. This will bring up the service menu. What you are looking for is the VSUS setting and you will want to switch it to "high." This should eliminate the pink blob on your TV. It worked great on mine. Just be sure you save the setting change before you exit the menu or it will default back to the original setting. I think you use the numerical "1" and "2" buttons on the remote to navigate the menu.

Mine too. I've been browsing 4K sets, but still haven't found the right set to jump to because I'm still loving the VT60.

I'm sincerely happy yours is still going strong, as well as the other posters in this thread. I wish mine was still alive and well There was a much higher fail rate on them however than previous Pannys were known for. Almost all of them were for power failures related to one of the circuit boards in the set. For a while you could get like new boards on ebay (removed from new units with cracked screens on delivery), but those dried up after a while.

Yeah I hate that for you, I really do. I will be sad AF when mine finally gives up the ghost.
