Default One Missed Call Trilogy (2003-2006) coming from Arrow

https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product/...ow-us-blu-ray/

Quote:
Description
“An iconic trilogy of J-horror films comes to Blu-ray for the first time! Tapping into the same brand of terror as the Ring and Grudge movies, visionary director Takashi Miike (Audition, Blade of the Immortal) presents a modern, high-tech twist on that mainstay of Japanese folklore, the yurei or vengeful spirit, in the form of its own iconic antihero – the terrifying Mimiko.

In the first installment in the trilogy, 2003’s One Missed Call, student Yoko (Anna Nagata, Battle Royale) receives a phone message from her future self, ending with her own death scream. Two days later, she dies in a horrific rail collision. As the mysterious phone curse spreads, claiming more young lives, Yoko’s friend Yumi (Ko Shibasaki, Battle Royale, 47 Ronin) joins forces with detective Hiroshi (Shinichi Tsutsumi, Space Battleship Yamato), whose sister met the same gruesome fate. But can they unravel the mystery before the clock runs out on the next victim – Yumi herself?

Mimiko’s curse continues to wreak bloody havoc in two sequels – 2005’s One Missed Call 2 and 2006’s One Missed Call: Final, in addition to spawning a TV series and an American remake. This lavish collection from Arrow Video gathers together the original trilogy and a swathe of in-depth bonus features for the ultimate spine-tingling experience.

Sweet. The first one is pretty good. Second one is so so and the third is a mess. Wonder what date of release is for February?

I thought the second film was terrible and I don't think I ever saw the third.

Still have my DVD of the first one.

And pre-ordered!

I bought the DVD trilogy like, a month ago, but it was cheap so no big loss. I'm just glad we're getting an upgrade!

First Love and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I haven't seen First Love, but it's gotten rave reviews. Jojo's is a pretty mainstream Miike, but not bad.

Nice load of extras (something I expected from Ring set - a lots of archival interviews and behind the scenes), but that cover...
Also, can we expect it to be 3-disc set?

Arrow's site says 2-disc. The MSRP is only $34.99 (compared to Ringu's $99.99) and the stock photo shows a single slipcover-less case.

Count me in. Wonder if we could end up getting a Crows Zero trilogy pack from Arrow as well?

EDIT: Also down for a Young Thugs trilogy, looking through the Miike filmography.

I can’t wait to get this. One of my favorite J-horror franchises and I even have a soft spot for the American remake. I hope they also release the Ju-On series.

Yes please to that Crows Zero Trilogy! Also a Lesson of Evil U.S. release. That movie is my favorite kind of Miike.

All these Miike releases give me hope that we'll see more of his stuff being released here soon.
