Interested in the art work. Won’t buy unless it is a 4K steelbooks of all nine films and all the previous bonus features remastered in 4K. Now for that I would pay hundreds

the price for the boxset is actually pretty fair, considering there are bonus discs for all the movies

Looks nowhere near as good packaging as the Best Buy exclusive 4K in the US, although may be placeholder.

You are paying something like £120 for the 9 UHD disks over the BD release.

I'll be the first to say No Theatrical Cuts No Sale

Having seen Rise now, I'm done with 6 of the 9 anyway.

I imagine both will be the same
best buy will be the exclusive vendor for the 4k set in the USA, while Amazon is in the UK
I imagine best buy will be more expensive. just take a look at their batman steelbook set in 4k, 4 movies in a stand and steelbooks for 89.99

I mean, it says it's not the final artwork so I would imagine there will be more to it. And in fairness £180 for 9 UHDs is £20 each, which is below what the normal price seems to be these days, so it's not like they're really inflating it. I've pre-ordered it (and I'm not even going 4K until later in 2020) because it seems fair to me.

So maths time...

27 discs.

18 of those are the films, that leaves 9 left.

Take away the 3 bonus discs from the last ‘complete’ box set and we are left with 6.

Awakens and Jedi had their bonus content on a separate disc, down to 3. One imagines Skywalker will do the same, down to 2.

So that’s 2 discs of mystery Bonus content left, one of which will hopefully be Empire Of Dreams and if so, it will more then likely have it’s own disc. Down to 1.

So if this is just one giant re-package, we are looking at possibly 1 new Blu-ray Disc of extras. Unless they do a content reshuffle on the archive discs from the last set and give each film its own extras disc.

Isn’t it fun when you get asked for £180 but they won’t tell you what your money is actually paying for.

You're speculating far more than you need to.

The description says "featuring all 9 Saga movies on Blu-ray with Bonus discs for every movie", so the bonus discs from the previous Complete Saga set clearly won't be on this one. TBH, I never expected them to be included anyway, the interactivity and presentation of those bonus discs are just too specific to that set.

I have no problem with holding onto the old set, after all it is still Blu-ray but I do hope all the previous DVD extras are carried over to this one, because there's a wealth of material there and I can't help but feel this will be the last time we get a proper new saga collection.

You might want to re-check your maths...

As lush as the fancy book packaging is I hate those sleeve disc holders, hate them hate them hate them, so fingers crossed that a regularly packaged 4K set is in the works.

Day 1, in any case.

Pointless set, I won't financially support poor quality.
All Ya'll who bought the old set and *****ed it had issues are the same people doing it all over again.

180 pounds for the 4K set?! Wow, seems a bit pricey to say the least. The Harry Potter set had 8 films and was substantially cheaper.

I'll just hope for an original trilogy 4K set. Those (and maybe Rogue One) are the only films that I'm especially excited to see in 4K.

But the original HP 4K box only had 8 discs -- no blurays no extras.

8 disc vs 27 is a rather substantial increase -- more movies, more formats, more extras and of course the Amazon Exclusive premium

Fair enough. But I'm still taken aback by a 180 pounds asking price. Especially when I already own 8 of the 9 films on 1080p disc.
