Default First post. Hi all

Been to another forum for a bit before I found here and it hasn't gone particularly well. While I was hoping it was a little more even-handed it seems not only to be a "red" site, but overtly hostile to blu choosers and owners. (The old firmware argument, Blu "bought" Warner, etc., PS3 owners just have "toys," not like us videophiles

The prevalent idea seems to be that if HD-DVD doesn't make you spontaneously orgasm and scream like fangirls at an Elvis concert in the '50s there's something wrong with you and the hypocrisy pill that seems to have to be gobbled in order to be incensed to the point of rage over the alleged WB payoff, but Para/UNi/DW payoffs are fine...because...uhh....well, we like red better"

Enough rambling. Sorry. Just hoping this place will be a better fit for me to learn about and discuss HDM, blu in particular.

Let me guess you were frequenting either AVSForums or HighDefDigest. Either ways, welcome aboard....its a nice comfy place here, but I do spend quite sometime at HighDefdigest fighting all the new Post-Warner FUD.

Welcome aboard BLU brotha!

Highdefforum, actually. Joined after the Warner announcement and, of course, doing that puts you under suspicion. Being pro-blu seems to have been the nail in my proverbial coffin.

Just wondering. I have a PS3 streaming question...would it go here, too? Or some other section?

LOL "Videophiles"? hahahaha... If they were videophiles they wouldn't have bought into 10 year old DVD technology with a pat on the butt, interactive fluff and no headroom.

But....But we used more glue, so now we have a 51GB disc...that's one more than 50...see...see. Don't worry, we gots plenty mo' glue, too.

And seriously, out of 1200+ DVDs I've watched the extras on maybe 20. I know about green screen, motion capture and prosthetics already. In short, I already KNOW how they made the movie.

I don't need PiP and all that, as you said, fluff, either.

My thoughts exactly it will be nice to have 1.1 don't get me wrong but for most of this special features stuff I really could care less. Just give the movie a great transfer and a spectacular soundtrack and that is all I need.
