Default Remember the Titans PQ

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody had any issues with the PQ on their Remember the Titans BD.

I read both the reviews from blu-ray.com and hidefdigest and the PQ was 4.5 and 5 stars out of 5 respectively.

I ordered the disc from Amazon and watched it tonight. To my eye, there is no way this disc is 4.5 or 5 stars.

I felt the transfer lacked sharpness in numerous scenes and is no where close to the level of PQ as described in the reviews.

Maybe I received a dodgy disc? I watched using a PS3 on a 46" Bravia KDL-46XBR.

Anybody have similar problems?

Thanks

An issue with the disc seems unlikely. Have you compared your impressions of other discs with those of these reviewers? Perhaps you're a bit more demanding. FWIW I rented this a while back and thought th vq was good but wasn't blown away. I'd probably give it 4/5.

I thought the movie looked mint!!! Looks perfect in my eyes.

Could be a bad disc, or have you ever calibrated your tv, that could make a difference.

I've found that BD to look absolutely superb on my tv (Sony 1080i CRT). I thought the PQ was awesome.

I bought the BD because I love the movie. The PQ was a huge plus for me. Could just be differences in vision, tv or whatever. Or it could be a less than perfect disc.

Thanks for the reply.

The only two discs I have been disappointed with after reading reviews are Enemy of the State and Remember the Titans.

All others have been pretty much spot on. I guess I was expecting a lot more than what I saw. From the first scene I saw, it just didn't look right.

I've had minimal calibration on the TV so I don't think that's a problem.

Maybe I'm getting too picky and trying to compare to the transfers of newer releases.

I agree, it's a fantastic movie. Seen it many times before and it's a great story!

Sharpness is not always a good indicator to determine the quality of a film's PQ.

I thought Titans was an excellent transfer. A solid 4/5.
