Sure that's a possibilty. Berlin IFA the only show this year open.

CEDIA 2020 is a digital only show this year because of pandemic, and CES 2021 show is closed because of that also. So they will only have video presentations, or video conferences.

Just like you will see several brands offering AVRs that have one port path to support 8K. Denon/Marantz and Yamaha have AVR's like that. Recently released is the Yamaha RX-V4A, and Yamaha RX-V6A.

Wow. Guess I never paid attention to most of these conferences beyond CES. Didn't realize TV announcements were ever made around this time of year.

IFA Berlin is the big one, and CEDIA is geared for CI/retail industry with lots of announcements. CES is just too expensive for product announcements anymore.
[Show spoiler]

But this time for 2020, with the pandemic sweeping the world, far fewer people will be attending IFA. The show is normally open to the public but this year only a select group of invited journalists and industry representatives are going to be on the ground. So the big question is, will the decreased visitor numbers have some brands decide that it's not worth the risk in bringing their biggest releases to the 2020 show?

We'll see how much news there really is with CEDIA which has zero physical presence this year because their hall got commandeered by COVID-19 activity.

IFA had a lot of vendors not show because of the Pandemic. Historically its been much more of a product introduction spectacle then CEDIA ever was. Whatever announcements we have at CEDIA got to be a lot less because of how all this industry has been impacted by the pandemic.

I hope you have some nice announcements from Sony, because anything that helps our entertainment hobby is worth pursuing right now.

@Robert Zohn

Anything to report regarding Sony's new products, TV wise I suppose there is not much to report except for the recent release of Sony's 48 inch A9S, hopefully some news on Sony eschewing their X-Wide Angle film composition layer for their follow up 2021 LCD lineup?

^ Thanks for bringing this up so I can say just a few words about why this new premium 110th flagship products launch is different than just another new line-up of high-end audio equipment.

Denon and Marantz are very highly respected brands and the management wanted to leverage all of their in-house top engineers and well respected Japan factory owned and operated manufacturing facility to develop, design and build new World Class audio components.

Of course, nothing I can say will substitute for your seeing, touching and auditioning these new devices in person, but here's a few words on the how Sound United planned these 6 new audiophile products.

It started with giving the design engineers all the time and funds they would need to develop the absolute best performance products possible.

The development engineers spec'd the best parts available, like the new 384-kHz/32-bit DAC and every other component, the overall construction, and all chassis connectors and controls are the best available. When you adjust the volume control it's smooth and feels and performs like a continuous analog control.

Denon and Marantz upgraded the warranty to 5 years and all of these units come with a signed certificate from the chief engineer.

Please read the .pdf spec sheets I linked in my earlier post to learn much more about these new bleeding edge advanced products.

@Tommy123, no 2021 BD players planned, but at CEDIA Sony touted their current flagship UBP-X1100ES and Panasonic also continues with their flagship UB9000.

D&M still haven't accomplished much this last year. $1500 more for essentially x8500 anniversary edition with 5 year warranty isn't a lot of technology progress. I saw this days ago, thinking oh some new high end models, nope. Generally Denons last for years anyway.

Denon's parent company is Sound United.

I can't list all of the many upgrades and enhancements that Denon product development and senior engineers built into the new limited edition AVR-A110 vs. the AVR-X8500-A, but here's a screen shot I took from one of the presentations Marantz presented to me.

CES is when we'll likely see new players, if any. I am not aware of any new player chipsets, which we are in dire need of, but they tend to be announced with other chipsets at CES, along with the players that use them.
