Default Why are Sony/Columbia Pictures blu-rays so plain?

I've just noticed that Sony doesn't have any decorations on the their actual blu-ray disc. Just that stupid design and the movie title. haha kinda stupid and most of you dont care, but I hope i'm not the only one that noticed this trend. It could just be all the older releases that have it, too.

Default Disc Labels? Cheap!!

What's up with some of the BluRay movies that look like bootlegs?! You figure that a 30 dollar movie would have a better label on the disc itself.

Can't speak for the OP, but to me the early Sony discs that just had the generic background and movie title printed on it come to mind. But they stopped doing that quite awhile ago. I haven't noticed any newer titles that looked like bootlegs.

I agree the older sony disc was just a blu back ground with the name on there.

I prefer the blue discs over the Paramount grey discs. Now those are boring. At least the best movie of the decade, 'There Will Be Blood', had a black disc. I do like how Sony, Disney and Lionsgate put images on the inside of the covers.

That's just Sony's older generic disc art. Some movie studios, when they first started manufacturing Blu-rays, used just a run of the mill generic type of disc art.

I thought it might be the distributor but those movies all have different companies. I can see your disappointment, it isnt the most attractive disc art but what can you do???

yeah that makes sense, especially since most of the titles that carry this disc art are some of the first run BD releases, right?
