United Kingdom The Official Fractured Visions Thread

Exciting news - a brand new UK label!

Fractured Visions already run a festival, and a podcast, Fractured Listens.

Quote:
We’ve signed 2 cult films, by 2 of our favourite Italian directors, and we will be releasing both titles in 2021. Each film will receive a limited collector’s edition blu-ray release, loaded with additional content, that will finally show these films the respect they deserve.

We will not focus solely on classic titles either, we’ll be bringing you the best in modern genre cinema, pumping some fresh blood into the physical media market. We’ll be teasing out more details over the next couple of months, but we hope you’re as excited as we are.

We're bringing Sergio Martino's action-thriller, SILENT ACTION back to the UK and we're proud to be bringing the film back for the first time ANYWHERE in HD.

Expect further details and artwork for this spectacular limited edition blu-ray soon!

Risky starting a label with a Polizzioteschi (as I understand it they weren’t the best sellers for 88 films/Arrow etc), but I’m not complaining. Saw Silent Action on an old bootleg and it was a pretty fun watch if I remember correctly.

Will definitely be supporting this label if they are releasing Italian crime films. If I had the choice I’d take an Italian crime film over a Giallo any day of the week. Don’t get me wrong I love gialli but the crime films I find are more entertaining. Don’t know how many sales the Grindhouse release of The Tough Ones got but it seemed to do really well and was one of the best Blu Ray releases of 2019.

Could be interesting to have another label issuing Italian treats. 88 do when they can, Shameless always do something to screw up their releases and Arrow seem to have lost interest. There's high hopes set on Fractured Visions already!

Count me in for supporting them too. Any new label releasing Italian genre titles is very much welcome!

Cautiously interested in this new UK label. Am all for another label which is going to release Italian films. Just hope they get the transfer right on Silent Action.

Fractured Visions have provided an update on the extras for the forthcoming UK blu ray release of Silent Action. Sounds like they’re going the extra mile for this one.

Looks fantastic - got my preorder in. Hopefully this sells well and we get further poliziotteschi on blu ray from them. Would rather support the label directly than give the money to Amazon.

Oof, I’m looking forward to this one but over $50 shipped to the US is too rich for me. Hopefully Diabolik will carry it for a bit less than that.

Looks very promising. Would rather support the label directly. However (and I'm not dithering or being complacent) I'll wait for reviews first.

Ouch £10 shipping from their site. Guess I need to look somewhere else to order.

I'll order nearer the date: four months is a bit too long to pay upfront at the moment, especially with the way everything has been getting delayed because of the current unpleasantness.

Email update from Fractured Visions:

We've been hard at work on SILENT ACTION.

As 2020 comes to a close (finally!), we thought we would give everyone a taste of what's in store for them come March 29th. We've recently completed the audio and visual aspects of the restoration and all of our bonus content has been delivered, along with a fresh new re-master of the film's original score.

We'll be starting 2021 with some hints as to what our second title will be, so please do check out our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram feeds on New Year's day - 3PM (GMT) to be exact - to see if you can guess what it will be. Did we also mention to like/follow us on those platforms? Please do!

Finally, we'd like to wish you all a happy New Year and to thank everyone for the support you have given us so far, it means a great deal to us and we are beyond excited to be sharing these films with you soon. Until then, here is a look at the new master and the man who helped birth the film, Sergio Martino, from our interview with him: which we shot earlier this year in Rome.

More Italian crime coming this year from Fractured Visions in the U.K. - specifically a Lenzi crime film - really hope it’s Violent Naples.

Agree too high a price.
But why on earth include the CD soundtrack. I am sure they are using that to justify at least £5 of the price.

Would have been better to ditch that and aim for a £17.99 price point.

Personally I think it's great value - especially for a company just starting out! The restoration looks good, it's in a fantastic box, it's been restored (images floated so far look great, although obviously will only know for sure once it's available), comes with the original soundtrack CD, includes brand new extras (the guy behind Fractured Visions has done great jobs with documentaries on 101's Black Label range), includes archival extras (the Milian Connection "featurette" - assuming it's identical to the one on the old Italian DVD - is almost an hour long just by itself), it's region free... I could go on!

I am slightly biased, in that I love crime dramas and Italian films, but it's a fairly new genre to me - and it's a company just up the road, so it was an easy decision to support a 'local' venture. If subsequent releases have love poured in like this one, I'll blind buy them all (within reason)!
