Disney Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 3D Blu-ray (2021) [Region Free]

Moderator note: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was only released on 3D Blu-ray in Japan, in a combo pack with the 4K disc and a 2D Blu-ray. All of the discs in the set are REGION FREE and have a fixed 2.39:1 aspect ratio with no IMAX scenes. Amazon Japan have an exclusive steelbook and editions that come with various gubbins. It does not look like the film will be released on 3D Blu-ray anywhere else in the world.

Please note that while there are English subtitles on the 3D disc, these are for ALL dialogue and there is no separate subtitle track for just the foreign dialogue.

Original post:
Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will release in RealD 3D on September 3, as announced by RealD 3D on various social media platforms.

If all goes well with Black Widow on the 3D Blu-ray side (let's hope for the best), we can get this film on 3D Blu-ray.

In contrast to "Black Widow" having been skipped, the next Marvel movie "Shang-Chi" will play in german IMAX 3D theater starting 2nd of September.

IMAX 3D Showing in Germany:

https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/de/shang-chi

Only if Black Widow will get a 3D Blu-Ray in Germany (but i don´t think so; actually is nothing official announced), we have a chance for Shang-Chi 3D Blu-Ray.

You can book tickets for this in the UK now. Cineworld currently have a reasonable number of 3D screenings listed (regular and 4DX).

RealD 3D Exclusive poster. Releasing on September 3 in cinemas for 45 days.

The film was also premiered recently in LA, and the early reviews are very positive.

And if you're lucky enough to catch an IMAX 3D screening somewhere, there will be IMAX 1.90:1 scenes.

Shang Chi looks like it has potential to be a good martial arts action fantasy film. Hoping the camera work and martial arts are really well choreographed and framed, along with the 3D. Looks promising. I'll check it out in theaters in September.

What screenings are people seeing available in their little corner of the world. For me (Bristol, UK) there are NO 3D showings available to book for opening weekend. All 2D.

I've been checking the Cinemark's and Premiere but sadly no 3D showings listed on this side of Texas. I'll give it a week before I panic tho.

Usually the Cinemark's here don't show the 3D listing until a week before release so going to cross my fingers til then.

You could pop on over to Weston-super-Mare; the Cineworld there is showing it in 3D on the opening weekend (one showing at 3.50pm on each day).

I'm surprised Showcase aren't offering it in 3D. Maybe they will add 3D screenings nearer the time? They've shown Black Widow, Jungle Cruise and Free Guy in 3D so I would be surprised if they didn't show this in 3D. Hopefully they haven't abandoned the format because that would leave Cineworld as the only UK chain still showing 3D (as far as I am aware).

I’ve never been to that cinema, what’s it like in comparison with the Deon in Taunton ?, it’s been years since I last went to a cinema!.

I actually haven't been myself! I don't live that close by but was in Bristol and Weston-super-Mare a few weeks back and was interested in what cinemas were in the area (even though the only one we actually ended up going to was the Bath Odeon).

Cinemark updated its listings here for advance tickets and, tentatively, it is being shown here with, get this, TWO whole showings in 3D per day, one of which is scheduled to be in XD. That's at least 100% more 3D than Free Guy, does even an unknown phase 4 MCU title carry more weight than Ryan Reynolds?

This does force me into a borderline quandary, since I'll have to balance if the 3D can make a meh film worthy, whether I should watch it to "vote with my dollar" for 3D, and (assuming Marvel even wants me watching this film, dunno about that) if the demographic it is doing will mean that it will be a better film than it might otherwise be.

Same here, E. Texas. But we only have one movie theater, Cinemark 14, and they are only using some of the screens.

Why would this film be meh? Marvel films are rarely meh. Early reviews are very good too.

Because Phase 4 of Marvel looks unexciting, that Endgame was the aptly-named culmination and anything afterwards is not going to have the same stakes, buildup, and energy? We're in the "epilogue" of the MCU now, and generally the high energy material isn't found there.

Additionally, the last time Marvel did kung fu, it gave us Iron Fist. Which wasn't bad, except for the hilariously poor fight choreography, but it was ultimately just a watered down plagiarism of season 1 of The Arrow.

When the best kung fu that Marvel could muster in its prime was to make a knockoff of a DC property that was relegated to The CW, my hopes aren't high for what it'll do during its decline.

But if this is played as a straight wire-fu flick then it could be the best of Phase 4.

Where did you get that silly idea? There's going to be more reunion movies, and they'll probably be even bigger than before.
