Default Impatient me!

Is it me just being impatient or are blue-ray titles taking forever to be released? I find myself looking through sites such as play, amazon, sendit and movietyme but there just doesn't seem a good selection to choose from yet. I'm longing for the day when I can replace my DVD and VHS collection with blu-ray. That seems a very long way off right now. Anyone agree?

Mike

I think there are a number of studio's holding off the Blu-ray releases of the big hitters from the past until HD-DVD is truly dead, there is a larger installed user base and BD-Live is available.

That being said there is already a lot of stuff available.

The irony of this is that more people would be inclined to go HD (blu) if they DID see more titles available. I do agree that there are plenty of great titles available. I have boughten everything I am intested getting at this point, so the only disks for me now are the ones I will purchase in the future. So far, this years title announcments are a bit slim, but I know there are some awesome titles coming up in 08. The fence sitters will come on board now and that will increase BD player and software sales which inturn will spur more title releases. They both work in accord.

It will take time before more and more studios start releasing in BD...

Do you remember how long the wait was for a new VHS to be release...even DVD took awhile to be release....

No, I can't afford to buy much more at a time and I am falling behind on titles I want

You need to think about how long it took movies to come out on DVD vs. VHS. It was years and there are still movies being released for the first time on DVD. Patience is a understatement.
