Canada Raven Banner Releasing Discussion Thread

Raven Banner Store
Raven Banner Homepage

New: Crabs! and Turbo Kid re-release with slipcover o-ring.

Sky Sharks & Bunny the Killer Thing Double Feature's entry is missing a bunch of info if anyone wants to fix it.

I've seen a bunch of these for all the other boutique labels, but none for Canada's Raven Banner. So, I figured, be the change I want to see. So here's a discussion thread for Raven Banner. As far as I know, everything they've released is region free. And if anyone wants to update the info on any of these movie pages, that'd be great because I don't own most of these, so can't verify anything.

I've seen some discussion about Climax and Psycho Goreman. Climax apparently has some PQ issues, like banding. Conversely, this is the definitive Psycho Goreman release, but that's mostly for the special features.

Really hate how certain release in Region A get different features. Lowlife on Raven Banner has a commentary from the director while the RLJE version has the director's short films.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is better than the Scream Factory release, at least as far as extras are concerned. The Scream factory release just has some trailers and TV Spots, while the Canadian release has the following: TIFF Q+A (11:34), Q+A with Emile Hirsch (15:39), "The Tunnel" Short Film (14:26), Trailer 1 (1:07), and Trailer 2 (2:04).

The Victor Crowley disc on the other hand is worse as it has a glitch with the sound and I was told they had no plans to fix it.

They did fix it, they mailed me a corrected replacement about 6 weeks after it’s original release. The original pressing the 5.1 track was extremely base heavy, to the point every other sound got scratchy/staticy. The replacement worked fine.

Dear friends: Can anyone tell me about his/her experience with the Raven Banner shipping?

I have ordered 2 weeks ago from them and no news yet.

Their store site is very simple and there is no customer contact info there

I ordered from them twice, and had positive experiences both times. With the first order I did contact them with a question and had a friendly reply the same day.

Each time between order and shipping email was 5 or 6 days.

So from my limited experience 2 weeks seems long. But they may be a one person operation.

When I contacted them I used the return email on my original order confirmation:

contact@ravenbanner.ca

(I hadn't checked their site in some months; man I'm sorry I missed the Turbo Kid slip!)

What are the extras like on The Sadness compared to the German 4K release?

Raven Banner will be releasing Shin Ultraman in what looks to be a vastly superior release to the US one.

Superior packaging. Plus it's a BD-50 while Cleopatra used a BD-25 so the video should be better.

We don't know about the audio yet (Cleopatra had lossy) and there was no mention of the English dub or other extras beyond the new intro and commentary.
