I want to pick up a hockey game and I was wondering which one out for PS3 is the best? I'll probably try and rent all 3 but I thought I'd put it out there for all my "fellow PS3ers" opinions.

NHL 08 has a lot better controls than the 2k game. I think 2k had some better graphics for the players faces and stuff, but that's about it. Easily better than the rest overall though.

NHL 08 but, I'm showing my age a little, they all seem harder to play then they should be. I remember sega hockey being alot more fluid. Oh the olden days.

Yeah... I'm an Old Man in training myself!!! Sega NHL 95 was awesome!

I dunno... I just didn't care for the right stick shot control in NHL 08. Is there a way to change that in the full game? I didn't see that option in the demo.

I preferred the control setup in NHL 2k8.

Graphics-wise, I think they're about equal. Although I'm glad EA's series came back, cuz the last few years have sucked. The 2k series has been much better the last few years.

Isn't the AI in NHL 08 Supposed to be amazing, like....incredible? AS in, you can never pull the same trick on the Computer twice, because it'll stand up and kick your ass?

Actually I've seen vids on YouTube where the AI blatantly cheats in NHL 08... pucks going through people's chests, sticks, the goalie's glove, etc.

YES! YOU ARE ABLE TO CHANGE THE CONTROL STYLE TO "CLASSIC". This turns all of your players controls into a simple 4 button schematic. But, be warned when doing this that you lose about 80% control over the abilities of your player, which in turn gives your opponents an 80% advantage over you on both offensive and defensive play.

NHL 08. And yes, when playing on the hardest difficulty it does get rather difficult. There are also times where you can be up 3 or 4 nothing and some hack scores a hat trick shooting blocker side, or a backhand from the point that goes high glove with nobody in the way of the goalie. That can get pretty bad, but the game itself is awesome.
