Default Speaker placement

I currently have my front speakers spaced 8 feet apart. We’ve recently moved some furniture out of our loft and have more room on either side of the TV. I’m considering moving the speakers further apart and placing the subwoofer closer to the TV. Any thoughts or advise on if I should or not?

How far are you seated from your mlp? If you do move your mains further apart, may need to angle them to where you would be listening? Just experiment. No harm in that

I used to have my fronts very far apart, I much prefer them closer together, either side of the TV. I prefer them without any toe-in too that way.

Sub placement doesn't matter as much as how it interacts with your room, something that's trial and error. Should be fine a bit closer to the TV, especially if it has more space around it that way (I know a lot of people do corner placement for a bass boost, but I hate boomy bass).
